Welcome to the heart of the Val d'Orcia. Upon arrival our first evening, we will settle into the hotel, tour the grounds, participate in the Italian tradition of 'aperitvio' and eat at an incredible Osteria within walking distance of our accommodations.
On our first full day together, we will engage in our morning wellness practice, take a quick nature hike among the ruins of the Roman roads & enjoy the rest of the day spa side - savoring in the wellness suites & landscape of Tuscany. We will travel to a neighboring village for a charming dinner w. a breathtaking view.
After our morning practice, we will travel to the neighboring hilltop village of Pienza. Pienza is well-known for it's charming medieval architecture, narrow and winding cobblestone alleys, the church where the original Romeo & Juliet was filmed and some of the most incredible cheese shops in all of Tuscany. We will tour the town with a local guide, taste some incredible local cheeses & take some time to explore the charming village on our own before our evening's aperitivo and delightful dinner.
After our morning practice, we'll visit the famous wine region Montepulciano - known for the famous Vino Nobile di Montepulciano as well as the mysterious & healing dessert wine - vin santo. We’ll explore the grounds of a historic winery that has recenty converted to organic & biodynamic practices & we’ll savor an incredible farm to table lunch on the veranda within a stone's throw from the vineyard. After our day in the vineyard, we'll have some free time to enjoy an afternoon by the pool or in the wellness suites before a deletable Tuscan dinner.
No trip to the Val d’Orica is complete without visiting Montalcino. While in Montalcino, we’ll get our hands into the local cuisine and prepare a multiple-course meal at a castle famous for it's wine production. After our cooking class and tour the meal we'll enjoy will include a handmade pasta course, main course and dolce - paired with the world famous wines of Montalcino.
We'll depart the Val d'Orcia after an incredible and restorative adventure. The private charter will return everyone to the Rome International Airport --- or you can extend your adventure according to your choosing. We're happy to provide recommendations for additional time in Italy/Europe after our tour.
