About your trip

Journey into the Heart of Scotland: An 10-Night Heritage Adventure

Embark on an unforgettable rail-based exploration through Scotland’s most captivating landscapes and ancient traditions—where misty moors, medieval alleyways, and majestic mountains reveal the rich soul of the Highlands.

Begin in Edinburgh, where two nights in a stylish 4-star hotel in the heart of the Old Town set the stage for your journey. Delve into layers of history through hidden closes, underground vaults, and a private visit to the magnificent Edinburgh Castle. Taste your way through the city’s culinary renaissance on a guided food walk, and raise a glass during a curated whisky tasting experience, where each dram comes with its own story.

Then, board a scenic Highland rail journey to Aviemore, your gateway to the Cairngorms National Park. Here, mountain vistas, tranquil lochs, and ancient forests become your playground. Enjoy a guided hike or reindeer safari, ride the Cairngorm funicular railway, and savor warm Highland hospitality at your resort-style hotel.

Next, the rails wind west to Oban, a picturesque harbor town known as the “Seafood Capital of Scotland.” With two nights in a waterfront 4-star retreat, you’ll ferry to the Isle of Kerrera, stroll to Gylen Castle, and enjoy an afternoon of oysters, sea air, and Hebridean folklore. Optional boat cruises or distillery visits add a layer of coastal wonder.

From Oban, travel one of Britain’s most scenic rail lines to Fort William, where a two-night stay invites you into Highland legend. Board the iconic Jacobite Steam Train—the real-life Hogwarts Express—as it crosses the Glenfinnan Viaduct toward Mallaig. Here, take a private day trip to the Isle of Skye, where dramatic cliffs, fairy pools, and clan castles whisper ancient tales.

Throughout the journey, evenings are enriched with optional ceilidhs, live traditional music, and Highland storytelling. Whether watching the sun set over a loch or sipping whisky beside a peat fire, this is Scotland at its most magical—authentic, cinematic, and deeply soulful.
