This unique coffee plantation offers over 50 km of flowing, purpose-built singletrack that will blow your mind! It’s also home to Guatemala’s only jump park—what more could we ask for?
La Carmona’s trail network is one of a kind in Guatemala, starting at an impressive 2,500 meters (8,500 feet) elevation. We’ll climb to the top via 4×4 shuttle, where the adventure begins with the first of many descent down the volcano’s trails. These trails are like flying down a jungle tobogan that seems to never end! It truly is out of this world. After our second downhill ride, we’ll break for lunch before diving into our Jump Clinic, spending the rest of the afternoon sending it until 4 o’clock. After riding we will coast on our bikes back into town for another incredible night in Antigua.

Today, we’re heading back to La Carmona for another action-packed day on the trails, following a similar schedule to the day prior. We’ll be spending the entire day jumping, shredding epic laps, and soaking up the rich, volcanic loam that makes La Carmona so unique. With its flowing trails and jaw-dropping scenery on the slopes of Volcán de Agua, La Carmona offers a true paradise for mountain biking enthusiasts.
We'll start with a warm-up run before diving into a full day of riding that includes mastering jumps and tackling different trail features, as well as pushing ourselves on the purpose-built singletrack that stretches across the coffee plantation. After an amazing day of riding, we’ll wind down with a visit to a local chocolate workshop, where we'll get a taste of Guatemalan cacao and learn about the production process behind one of Guatemala's top exports. Today, we’ll start with an early breakfast, pack up our gear, and head out toward the stunning Lago Atitlán! Our adventure begins high above the lake, where we’ll ascend to nearly 3,000 meters to reach the start of what’s often called the best true enduro trail in Guatemala: the Slick Rock Trail.
The day’s ride kicks off with a 5-km climb on trail and Atitlán's unique slickrock, leading us to "El Corazón de las Nubes," a sacred Mayan ceremonial site surrounded by a remarkable landscape of alpine grasses, grazing sheep, and agave plants. From there, we’ll follow rocky, technical singletrack through beautiful pine forests, passing small Mayan communities along the way. The trails offer a dynamic mix of flow, technical sections, alternate lines, climbs, and much more.
We’ll descend for about 1.5 hours, dropping into a lush river valley before a short climb to our meeting point with the van, where an incredible picnic lunch awaits us. After lunch, a quick shuttle will take us to the start of a thrilling 1,000-meter descent toward Lake Atitlán. The final leg of our Slick Rock journey includes an awesome drop just minutes from the trailhead, capping off an unforgettable ride down to the lake.

Today, we’ll enjoy a free day in the picturesque San Juan La Laguna at Lake Atitlán. Renowned for its rich Mayan culture, traditional weaving and textile industry, eco-friendly practices, and breathtaking natural beauty, San Juan La Laguna is the perfect place to rest and recharge before the second half of our trip. You’ll have countless options to make the most of your free day!
Choose to embark on an adventure on Lake Atitlán by renting kayaks or paddleboards, or take a refreshing swim in a nearby watering hole. If you’re feeling adventurous, consider hiking the surrounding trails for stunning views of the lake and mountains.
Immerse yourself in the local Mayan culture by exploring the charming village of San Juan La Laguna, visiting local artisans, or discovering the vibrant art galleries showcasing the work of talented local artists. If you prefer a more leisurely pace, simply relax and soak in the serene lakeside views, taking the time to unwind and appreciate the beauty that surrounds you. Whatever you choose, today is all about enjoying this enchanting destination!
Riders will pack their things and get ready to boat over to the town of Panajachel, to the otherside of the lake, for one last day and night on the amazing Atitlán. After our boat shuttle is over we will load the van for two amazing shuttle runs on the eastern rim of Lake Atitlan!
Both of these trails are centuries old Mayan trade routes that once connected two of the major Atitlan villages with those of the eastern part of the country. La Santa Cat as it is known because it finishes in the village of Santa Catarina Palopo contours above the lake before it plummets down an a twisty urban staircase to the lake. The San Antonia Maya trail is arguably the oldest of all the footpaths into the Atitlan basin. It is also one of the most technical. Centuries of foot traffic have worn steps into the rock creating an almost Inca trail feel as you drop 400+ meters to the lake.
In the evening we encourage guests to make their way to the world famous Circus Bar for live music, drinks, and Italian food! This place is an absolute must!!!
