The North Wales Mountain Retreat


This all-inclusive retreat will run from 1pm Friday to 1pm Sunday at an exclusively hired 11-bedroom Snowdon Ranger Lodge, nestled on the edge of Llyn (Lake) Cwellyn.


We've partnered with local swim guides to uncover Eryri’s (Snowdonia’s) best-kept secrets for inspiring swims and refreshing dips. Rivers, pools, waterfalls, and lakes make this our most inspired retreat yet.

Who are the swim guides?

Mel
Mel is TWSCo's full-time swim guide. A qualified Beach Lifeguard, Open Water Swim Coach, and certified through the National Water Safety Management Programme.

  • Favourite swim: Bossiney Cove, Cornwall.

  • Favourite retreat: Spring in Cornwall.

  • Favourite cake: Lemon drizzle.

Becky
Becky began work with TWSCo. as a hospitality assistant before completing her Beach Lifeguard and Open Water Lifeguard qualifications in 2023.

  • Favourite swim: Old Harry Rocks, Dorset.

  • Favourite retreat: Studland, Dorset.

  • Favourite cake: Millionaire's shortbread.

Rich
Rich is a Beach Lifeguard, Open Water Lifeguard, and Open Water Swim Coach. He has achieved the National Water Safety Management Programme and delivers lifeguard and water safety awards for The Royal Lifesaving Society as a National Trainer Assessor..

Ali
Ali is a Beach Lifeguard, Open Water Lifeguard, and Open Water Swim Coach. She is a TWSCo. favourite and has extensive mountain experience, particularly loving Eryri and The Lake District.

  • Favourite retreat: The Lake District Swim Retreat.

We meet at our first swim location at 1pm, likely to be a glorious lake in the lee of Mount Yr Wyddfa. This guided swim and swim clinic (or intro to Cold Water dipping) will give you a chance to improve your stroke or try a new stroke under the supervision of our qualified and experienced swim coaches.


Be sure to bring your hot drinks flasks fully charged to accompany homemade cake before we head to the accommodation for rooming.


Dinner with table wine will be followed by our famous 'Tame the Tides' talk in the lounge.

Day 2

Wake me up for waterfalls

Early birds will be wowed by an outstanding sunrise dip with warm croissants.

A hearty, healthy breakfast will be followed by a drive out to a spectacular Eryri waterfall—perfect for an Instagram-worthy shot!


In the afternoon, enjoy an optional hike around Yr Wyddfa, taking in its breath taking landscapes. End the day with a serene sunset dip in Snowdon's clear waters.

A spellbounding end

Pancakes for breakfast will be followed by a short drive out to Elephant Rock, this incredible lake sits at the foot of Yr Wyddfa. A point-to-point swim will be possible for those who want a challenge!


Homemade lemon drizzle cake will end a perfect few days in the mountains.
