“Alto de Letras” is truly a “bucket list” climb for serious cyclists. As Colombia’s most challenging climb, it ranks next to Hawaii’s Mauna Loa as one of the longest mountains passes in the world, which can be done on a road bike.
Through its more than 3,800 meters of gained elevation over the course of 82 kilometers, you’ll discover beautiful landscapes, new scents, and typical villages.
We will stay 45 kilometers outside the city to pedal our first ride at 2,300 meters (8,202 feet) above sea level. This region is the second-largest flower producer in Colombia, and produces 20% of all the flowers that our country exports. After we’ve completed our big challenge, we will relax in natural hot springs. To finish the trip, we spend time enjoying the coffee region, riding around coffee plantations, learning about coffee, and closing with the best records in our cycling profile.
After much grit, dedication and passion, when you complete the challenge that is this climb, you will be left with incredible feelings of accomplishment.
You can customize this tour according to your needs, times or budget.

We assemble the bikes and have a welcome meal, where we enjoy our gastronomy. Colombian cuisine is very diverse and varies according to the different regions of Colombia. During lunch, in addition to celebrating the great adventure that is about to begin, we will have a tour exhibition where we present the details of the trip.
This day we do a transshipment to Alban, then we do a challenging ride. At the end, we transfer again by car from Cambao to abolish traffic and we arrive in to a beautiful heritage town, Honda.
A town that takes its name from the Ondaimas, the indigenous people that inhabited the banks of the Magdalena River. Honda is known as the "City of Peace" as it escaped most of the violence of the 1950s.
A coffee ride around Honda. We finished the ride in the town square, where we enjoyed a variety of fresh juices.
Then we return to the hotel to cool off in the pool and enjoy lunch.
In the afternoon we will have a technical talk with some tips for Letras, the great challenge.
¡The big challenge! we are going to ride the longest climb in the world.
Don't worry about water, granolas, bananas, and supplies, our support vehicle, guides, and staff are ready to help. The effort, sweat, and suffering, will be rewarding for the amazing landscapes, little towns alongside the road, smells, vegetation, and more, through the 3,760 m of elevation gained.
Then, recover in an amazing natural spring water, and celebrate that you did it.
Pereira is one of the three cities that make up the Colombian Coffee Triangle. Like the neighboring cities of Armenia and Manizales, Pereira is surrounded by impressive and varied landscapes. Colombia's average annual coffee production of 11.5 million bags is the third highest in the world, after Brazil and Vietnam. In 2011, UNESCO declared the "Coffee Cultural Landscape" of Colombia, a World Heritage Site.
We started from a good coffee shop to avoid city traffic. A ride between coffee plantations, challenging but with one of the best coffee landscapes in the world.
A traditional town, full of colors and traditions. This picturesque town is also known as El Cerro Iluminado de Los Andes, with a variety of good places to drink coffee, world-class restaurants, and beautiful landscapes that you can travel by jeep, the typical transport of the coffee region of Colombia.
We set off by bike from the hotel and ride to Filandia, to the Casa du velo hotel, the first hotel in Colombia designed for cyclists. We will enjoy like kings in a place that you will never forget.
Located in the middle of beautiful green mountains 24 km northeast of Armenia, this small town moves its economy through the production of coffee, the cultivation of trout (trucha), and more and more tourists who are attracted by its picturesque streets, the typical architecture paisa, and its proximity to the spectacular Valle de Cocora where we finished the ride.
A ride between Filandia and Salento where we finished this great tour celebrating with a cold beer and a typical lunch (Trucha with the biggest plantain)
