The first wild camping instruction day

Join us at Burrator Reservoir's designated meeting point to start your 2-day Introduction Course to Wild Camping. The exact spot will be shared closer to the start date, likely starting from a parking area near Burrator Reservoir in Dartmoor National Park.

We'll gather, check our gear, and ensure we're all set for the 2-day camping skills course and expedition weekend in Dartmoor. Our departure is estimated at around

10 am as we embark on a 4-6 hour hike towards our wild camping spot. Along the way, soak in stunning views and take breaks to rest.

Throughout the day, you'll grasp essential wilderness skills like map reading, using a compass, expedition planning, packing, risk assessment, and understanding weather forecasts and safety protocols. In the evening, we'll set up camp, prepare meals, and unwind in the tranquillity of nature.

The second day of Wild Camping skills weekend

On the second day of the Introduction to Wild Camping skills course, we'll start early to avoid disturbing those still asleep in their tents.

After breakfast and packing up, we'll embark on a few hours of walking, further honing our wilderness expertise.

As we navigate through Dartmoor's stunning landscape, our instructors will support and guide us, allowing us to apply our navigation skills.

This time, we'll be descending, offering a fresh viewpoint for an enjoyable stroll.

We aim to return to the meeting point by approximately 2 pm, concluding an educational and delightful weekend of wilderness camping and backpacking. Depart with newfound skills, a sense of accomplishment, and confidence in responsible wilderness enjoyment.
