About Bab Zouina

Immerse yourself in the open nature of the desert!

 

Bab Zouina is a sanctuary tucked away in the serene Ourika Valley, just outside Marrakech, where the red mountains meetolive groves and the air carries the scent of orange blossoms.
 

The entire space is designed rooted is sustainably designed. Built in the traditional Moroccan riad style, its rooms and yoga studios stand between rustling palm trees, vibrant bougainvillea, and hand-carved archways.

FAQs

what airport should I fly into?

Marrakesh Airport (RAK) is ideal. Transportation will be arranged for you directly to Bab Zouina.


Do I need experience in yoga to join?

No you do not need experience to join, only an open mind and heart!


What if I have an injury or am deconditioned? Can I adapt the retreat?

Mira is an expert at working with all levels in an inclusive & safe coaching environment. You will be encouraged to stay present at all sessions, and you will be given specific modifications when needed. She has worked with 70+ year olds, people with injuries, post natal women and everyone in between. Show up, learn and expand your upper limits safely. There are ways to work with and adapt to most injuries as well.


When should I arrive to Morocco?

Plan to arrive 12:00 PM (noon) on April 25, 2026.

If you would like to arrive earlier, let us know and we can arrange separate transportation for you.


What should I bring?

We will send you a packing list when you sign up. Bring multiple workout shirts and pants/short, and a warm sweater for the evenings. Bring proper footwear for the dessert & light hiking.

Feel the stress melt away as you arrive in Morocco. After a seamless transfer to the retreat venue, settle into your stunning surroundings before joining a welcome dinner filled with laughter, connection, and delicious flavors. We’ll close the evening with an intention-setting circle a sacred space to ground yourself, release expectations, and open your heart to the transformative week ahead.

Ground & Explore

Wake up to the gentle hues of sunrise and begin your day with a soul-nourishing yoga and meditation session, grounding yourself in the present moment. After breakfast, wander through a nearby village, immersing yourself in local traditions and breathtaking landscapes. In the afternoon, deepen your connection to your body and inner wisdom in a transformative Body Connection Workshop, leaving you feeling balanced, empowered, and alive.

Adventure & Play

Greet the day with sunrise yoga, then, dive into the magic of Marrakesh with a full-day tour — explore vibrant souks, historic palaces, and hidden gems that ignite your sense of wonder. Return to the retreat for an evening reflection circle, before heading off to a restful sleep.

Begin with an energizing morning yoga session then, dive into a playful inversion workshop designed for all levels—experience the joy of flipping your perspective and challenging your body in a fun, supportive environment. Next, immerse yourself in a traditional baking class where the rich aromas and flavors of Moroccan cuisine fill the air. Cap off the day with a warm community dinner, sharing stories and laughter that deepen your connection with fellow travelers.

Ease into your day with a gentle yoga session paired with reflective journaling, setting a peaceful tone for the hours ahead. Enjoy free time to relax or indulge in optional activities that spark your curiosity. As the day draws to a close, join a serene sunset meditation, allowing the warm hues of the sky to rejuvenate your spirit and nurture your inner calm.

Begin with a vibrant morning flow yoga to energize your spirit and body. Later, gather in a closing circle paired with a creative art session—a time to reflect, share your journey, and express your inner evolution. As the day winds down, join a heartfelt farewell dinner accompanied by soulful music, celebrating the bonds forged and the transformative experiences shared throughout your retreat.

Departure & New Beginnings

Close your retreat with a final morning practice, grounding yourself in the magic you’ve cultivated throughout the week. Before parting ways, break bread together over a nourishing breakfast, sharing final reflections and warm embraces. We’ll coordinate airport transportation to ensure a smooth journey home — but if your heart craves more adventure, we’d be thrilled to help you extend your stay, whether that means hiking the Atlas Mountains or embarking on a soul-stirring Sahara trip.

About your organizer

Mira is an innovative leader with a strong pedagogy. She is an internationally recognized activist as well as a life coach. She holds a Masters in International Affairs, and over 500 Hour Advanced Yoga teacher training. Mira’s work is at the intersection of embodied peace and powerful purpose. She is the author of Mindfulness in Islam and runs the Transformation Program, curating space for her students to define their purpose and embody the shifts they are ready to make, beginning by integrating the mind, body, and spirit.
