Forward Explorations offers a captivating journey through rugged landscapes and ancient history. All accommodations throughout the trip are included (five evenings).
Breakfast, lunch, & dinner all six days are all inclusive. Wine and spirits each evening are also included.
From the first morning in Cagliari to the last evening, all transportation will be taken care of.
Flights to and from Cagliari are not included
Guest are responsible for transportation to and from the airport before and after the trip.
Guest are responsible for booking their own accommodations before and after the trip. We will give recommendations to accommodate our pre trip meeting location.
Travel insurance is not included. This will need to be purchased individually
Guide gratuities are not included. If you enjoyed your trip an industry standard tip of 15-20% of total trip cost is custom. This is split between the guides.
Any personal souvenirs, snacks, or items you'd like to purchase along the trip are not included.
We will start our adventure in Cagliari. The group will gather at our designated hotel, go over the itinerary and then load up and head up the eastern coast to the small chic beach town of Santa Maria. We will embark on our first hike of the trip, a moderate 4 mile route that parallels the sea. Afterwards, we will settle into our accommodations and head out in town for our first group dinner.

Our journey takes us up to the high country above Baunei where we will get to interact with a new landscape and the local goats. We will descend into a coastal forest full of wooden ladders with sweeping sea views. Our finally destination leads us to a secluded beach where we will enjoy lunch and swimming all afternoon.
In the evening we will explore the town of Baunei before enjoying dinner above town where we started our day, sampling a menu full of local produce and excellent wine.

Hike: 7.5 miles. 3,000ft net elevation gain/loss. Strenuous
We will leave our lovely abode in Santa Maria and head north to Cala Gonone where we will enjoy one last hike on the eastern side of the island before heading inland to the quiet town of Dorgali. We will settle into our accommodations and have dinner in a eco-hotel situated near the base of Gorropu Canyon.

Hike: 6 miles, easy.
Today we head to Gorropu Canyon where we will switch up sea views for sweeping canyon hiking amongst the limestone cliffs of central Sardinia. We will have lunch in between towering canyon walls and stunning views. As we wander back out the canyon we will drive through some of Sardinia's oldest vineyards while partaking in a wine tasting at a local vineyard.

Hike: 7 miles, 2,000ft elevation +/-. Strenuous
We will depart the central island as we head back to Cagliari. We will explore the historic city of Cagliari before partaking in our last group dinner before departing in the morning
