About your trip

We've travelled into the woods and now we travel into the tropics! We continue to connect ourselves to all the wonders the world has to offer and there was no better destination than Guatemala. A country steeped in culture and tradition.  We have crafted a getaway that incorporates a wide variety of activities to engage the mind, body and spirit - such as waterfall hikes, Mayan fire ceremonies and day trips to local villages. From yoga to farm tours we created a 4 night, 5 day adventure that is sure to awaken your inner self, connect you to the earth and create lifelong bonds with other like-minded humans.

Accomodations

The Bambu Guest House is a stunning naturally-built retreat center for Permaculture and regenerative living on the shores of  Lake Atitlan, Guatemala.   This is truly the land of eternal spring, we enjoy temperate weather year round and will be venturing down during their dry season. There are 3 rooms types so choose from: 2  shared rooms that can sleep up to 8 people each, 2 triple rooms that can accommodate 3 people each and 2 single rooms which have 1-2 beds in.  2 vegetarian meals and 1 meal containing meat will provided each day we are staying. There is also unlimited coffee, tea & drinking water.   Our shared rooms offer a comfortable and luxurious place to greet the sun or unwind at the end of the day. Balconies in each room are equipped with hammocks to take in the sunrise or catch a volcano erupting, if you're lucky! Each room has a private bathroom with hot water, heated sustainably with a passive solar system. WiFi is available in all rooms. Soothing river sounds drift up into the room to lull you to sleep.

Their newly built Yoga Platform is an amazing space for yoga and other group work. The large deck, locally made bolsters, cushions, and yoga props, and stunning lake views makes it perfect for dynamic group activities.

The Food

We will have dinner when we arrive on Friday, 3 meals on Saturday, Sunday & Monday and breakfast on Tuesday.  2 meals per day will be vegetarian, while one meal will contain meat. The Farm-to-Table Restaurant is open daily 8:00 - 8:00 and serves up delicious and filling plates mainly composed of Atitlan Organics' and other local farm products. Currently, Atitlan Organics supplies all of the milk, yogurt, cheese, salads, cooking greens, honey, coffee, chicken, taro root, pigeon peas, and herbs to the restaurant.  The restaurant is run by three young, local, and super talented chefs named Antonio, Reynaldo, and Rodrigo. They are amazing!
