About your trip

The Socorro Islands, part of Mexico’s Revillagigedo Archipelago, are a bucket-list destination for divers seeking unforgettable encounters with the ocean’s most magnificent pelagic species. Located 250 miles off the southern tip of Baja California, this remote volcanic island chain offers world-class diving from November through May. On this 9-night liveaboard expedition departing from San José del Cabo, divers will explore the legendary sites of San Benedicto, Socorro, and Roca Partida—each offering its own distinctive underwater experience.

Renowned for their biodiversity and abundance of marine megafauna, the Socorro Islands are home to schooling hammerheads, tiger sharks, silky and Galapagos sharks, bottlenose dolphins, oceanic whitetips, whale sharks, and mesmerizing schools of jacks, tuna, wahoo, and barracuda. At San Benedicto’s famous “Boiler”, divers often share magical moments with giant oceanic manta rays, known for their gentle nature and curiosity toward divers..

Accessible only via a 26–28 hour liveaboard journey, the Socorro Islands remain one of the ocean’s last untouched frontiers—an exclusive destination for passionate and experienced divers seeking both adventure and purpose. Beneath the waves, dramatic volcanic landscapes and open-ocean conditions create an awe-inspiring backdrop for this unique Shark Guardian Expedition that blends exploration, education, and conservation in one truly transformative experience.
