Camino Portugués: Spiritual Variant from Baiona to Santiago, Northwest Spain – 11 days/10 nights – Avg. 17 km (10.5 mi) per day. Walk a spiritually rich section of the Camino Portugués, starting in coastal Baiona and ending in Santiago de Compostela. This route blends seaside trails, forest paths, and sacred sites—including the peaceful Monastery of Armenteira and the traditional Traslatio boat journey—highlighting the natural beauty and historical depth of the Camino.
We will be a small group, incorporating yoga and mindfulness into our trip.
Lodging is upgraded hotels (inc. Paradores), or bed and breakfasts. All rooms are private double rooms (2 beds) with a private bathroom. Pricing is per person double occupancy.
Dinners are 3 course meals, typically served with wine.

Day 1, October 16, 2026 - Baiona
We will pick you up at the Vigo, Spain (VGO) airport. You will have some time to explore Baiona. It is a beautiful fishing village famous for having been the first port in Europe where, with the arrival of La Pinta, and the discovery of America, was announced. You can visit the Monument to the Encounter between Two Worlds or the Pinta Caravel Museum. We will gather for dinner and a formal welcome before heading to bed, in preparation for our walk starting the next day.
October 17, 2026: Baiona to Nigrán - 9 km
A leisurely walk through coastal paths and forest trails to Playa América.
October 18, 2026: Nigrán to Vigo - 16 km
Enjoy panoramic views of the Ría de Vigo and visit the bustling Samil Beach.
October 19, 2026: Vigo to Redondela - 18 km
Walk through eucalyptus forests and discover Redondela’s Romanesque Church of Santiago.
October 20, 2026: Redondela to Pontevedra - 18 km
Follow tranquil trails to Pontevedra, known for its charming old town and the Church of La Peregrina.
October 21, 2026: Pontevedra to Armenteira – 23 km Begin the Spiritual Variant with a beautiful forest walk to the peaceful Monastery of Armenteira, nestled in the hills and surrounded by nature.
October 22, 2026: Armenteira to Vilanova de Arousa – 23 km Descend along the serene Ruta da Pedra e da Auga ("Path of Stone and Water"), following streams and ancient mills before reaching the coastal town of Vilanova de Arousa.
October 23, 2026: Vilanova de Arousa to Pontecesures (via Traslatio boat route) Take the traditional Traslatio boat journey through the Ría de Arousa, retracing the legendary route of Saint James’ remains. Land near Pontecesures, where we continue on foot.
Pontecesures to Rúa de Francos/Faramello – 15 km Walk through quiet countryside dotted with chapels and hamlets, soaking in the stillness and charm of rural Galicia.
October 24, 2026: Rúa de Francos/Faramello to Santiago de Compostela – 13 km Complete your pilgrimage at the magnificent Santiago de Compostela Cathedral, a place of deep spiritual significance and celebration.
October 26, 2026: Group transfer to Santiago de Compostela Airport (SCQ) for your journey home.
