Join us on a 3-day Islamic micro-tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina during the blessed month of Ramadan, designed to immerse you in its rich heritage, breathtaking landscapes, and the vibrant communal spirit of Ramadan.


Your evenings will be enriched with meaningful Ramadan traditions, including group dhikr at the historic Haji Sinan Tekke , group muqabalah sessions after Fajr (reciting the Qur’an together), and performing taraweeh prayers in different mosques across Sarajevo, such as the iconic Gazi Husrev-Beg Mosque. You’ll also experience communal iftars featuring local Bosnian cuisine and attend the lively Sarajevo Ramadan Festival, where the streets are filled with lights, markets, and cultural performances celebrating faith and togetherness. 🌙


We will begin our journey in Sarajevo with an Islamic walking tour of the Old Town (Baščaršija), the heart of the city’s Islamic heritage, where you’ll discover its stunning Ottoman-era architecture, bustling bazaars, and historic mosques. 🕌 Experience the Tunnel of Hope, a testament to Sarajevo’s resilience during the Bosnian War, and learn about the city’s remarkable history.


On the second day, we will travel to Jajce and Travnik. In Jajce, marvel at its medieval fortress 🏰 and the stunning waterfalls, and for the adventurous, enjoy an optional zipline ride above the falls. In Travnik, soak in the beauty of Ottoman architecture and tranquil landscapes, perfect for spiritual reflection. 🌿


We will conclude our journey with visits to Konjic, Blagaj, and Mostar. In Konjic, admire the historic Old Bridge and its picturesque surroundings. Visit Blagaj to witness the serene Dervish madrasah beside the Buna River, a peaceful retreat ideal for introspection during Ramadan. Wrap up the day in Mostar, where you’ll be captivated by the iconic Stari Most (Old Bridge) and the vibrant energy of the city as locals gather for communal Iftars. 🌆

Arrival Airport: Sarajevo International Airport (SJJ).


Arrival/Departure Transfer:

Transfer services in Sarajevo are available between 10:30 and 11:30, allowing a 60mins window. 


Flight Information:

Kindly be aware that flights are not included in this package. We suggest booking the following flights for your convenience:


- London: Your journey can commence with a Wizz Air flight from London Luton at 06:50, arriving in Sarajevo at 10:40. For the return leg, you have the option to depart from Sarajevo at 10:30, landing back at London Luton at 12:35. Additionally, there are alternative options to fly with other airlines at different times.


- Istanbul: Turkish Airlines & Pegasus offers a direct flight from Istanbul that aligns with the trip dates and airport transfer times. Rest assured, we're here to assist you in finding the optimal flight.


Guests from all nationalities are warmly welcomed to join the trip, and we are happy to facilitate separate airport transfers as required, subject to an additional fee. Please don't hesitate to contact us for further information or assistance with arrangements.

Cancellation Policy & Terms + Conditions

At Evliya Travels, we are passionate about creating exceptional travel experiences that are meticulously planned. To ensure the smooth execution of our services, we need to settle payments with our suppliers well in advance. Once your deposit is processed, it becomes non-refundable as our suppliers are compensated upfront, often months ahead. We truly appreciate your understanding in this matter. By proceeding with your booking, you acknowledge and agree to abide by these conditions. We are here to make your travel dreams a reality and cannot wait to embark on this journey with you!


Payments and Cancellations:


Deposit

To secure your reservation, we kindly ask for a £100 deposit upon booking. This deposit is non-transferable and non-refundable under any circumstances.


Payment

We require full payment no later than 5 weeks before your trip’s departure date.


Refunds and Transfers

Once full payment has been received, we are unable to offer refunds or transfers. However, if your plans change and you are unable to travel, you are welcome to sell your space to someone else. Please note that the responsibility for finding a replacement rests with you. If you decide to sell your space, please notify us with the details of the replacement traveller at least 2 weeks before the departure date to ensure a smooth transition.


Cancellation Charges

Cancellations made more than 5 weeks before the trip: No additional charge (deposit remains non-refundable).

Cancellations made within 5 weeks of the trip: 50% of the total trip cost.

Cancellations made within 3 weeks of the trip: 100% of the total trip cost.


Refunds during the Trip

Unfortunately, once the trip has commenced, we are unable to issue refunds, partial refunds, or credits for any unused services or portions of the trip.


Itinerary Changes

Please keep in mind that the itinerary provided may be subject to changes due to unforeseen circumstances. We appreciate your flexibility and understanding in this matter.


Trip Protection Plan

To provide peace of mind, we offer an optional Trip Protection Plan. By paying an additional 15% of your total trip cost, you can cancel your trip and receive a full refund up to 10 days before your departure date. This plan safeguards your investment against unexpected changes in your schedule, allowing you to book with confidence. We highly recommend opting for this protection to ensure a worry-free experience.

Guest Screening: To make sure everyone's experience is enjoyable and smooth, we conduct a brief screening for all our guests after booking. This helps us ensure that everyone joining the trip is aligned with our values and ready to embark on a wonderful adventure together. If, for any reason, you don't pass the screening, rest assured, we'll refund your deposit promptly.


Medical Disclosure: Your health is important to us, so when you book, we'll ask you to let us know about any medical conditions. Don't worry, though – your information will be kept confidential.


Travel Insurance: We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance at the time of booking to cover medical issues, cancellations due to illness, COVID-19, flight disruptions, and other unforeseen circumstances.

Day One

Discovering Sarajevo’s Islamic Heritage and Ramadan Spirit

On your first day, after settling into your hotel, we will embrace the spirit of Ramadan in Sarajevo. We will start with a visit to the Tunnel of Hope, reflecting on resilience and faith during adversity. 


Then, we will explore Sarajevo’s Islamic heritage with a walking tour of Baščaršija, the Old Town, visiting the Gazi Husrev-Beg Mosque and Hadži Sinan’s Tekke, where we will connect with the practice of Dhikr, a powerful remembrance of Allah.


As Maghrib approaches, we will witness the cannon shot marking iftar, a beloved Ramadan tradition, and break our fast together with a group iftar in the heart of the Old Town. Afterward, we will perform taraweeh prayers at the historic Gazi Husrev-Beg Mosque, before relaxing with time for reflection and connection under Sarajevo’s Ramadan lights.

Discovering Travnik’s Ottoman Legacy & Sarajevo’s Ramadan Traditions

Suhoor will be served at the hotel, followed by Fajr prayer at the Gazi Husrev-Beg Mosque, located in the heart of Sarajevo’s historic Old Town.


After this spiritually uplifting start, we will travel to Travnik, a historic city once home to Ottoman viziers. Our first stop will be the Travnik Fortress, a medieval stronghold offering panoramic views of the city and its surroundings.


We will then visit the Elči Ibrahim-paša Medresa, a treasured site of Ottoman religious and cultural heritage, followed by the Sulejmanija Mosque, also known as the Colourful Mosque, featuring a unique minaret believed to predate the current structure. Here, we will participate in a Mukabela, a communal Qur’anic recitation, connecting with Travnik’s spiritual traditions.


In the evening, we’ll return to Sarajevo for a special group Iftar at the Yellow Bastion, enjoying stunning views of the city as the cannon signals the end of the fast, creating a memorable Ramadan experience.

Discovering Herzegovina: Počitelj, Mostar & Iftar by the Neretva River

Suhoor and Fajr Prayer at Ferhadija Mosque

We will begin the day with Suhoor at the hotel, followed by Fajr prayer at Ferhadija Mosque, a stunning Ottoman-era mosque in Sarajevo. Built in the 16th century, this mosque is renowned for its intricate Islamic architecture, serene atmosphere, and rich history, making it a perfect place to start the day during Ramadan.


Exploring Herzegovina: Počitelj, Blagaj, and Mostar

Our journey begins with a visit to Počitelj, a charming village along the Neretva River, famed for its well-preserved Ottoman architecture and the historic Gavrankapetanović house, a traditional Bosnian masterpiece.


Next, we’ll arrive in Blagaj, home to the tranquil Blagaj Tekija, a Dervish monastery perched beside the turquoise waters of the Buna River. Built around 1520, this serene retreat combines Ottoman and Mediterranean architectural influences, offering a spiritual and scenic experience.


In Mostar, we’ll discover the iconic Stari Most (Old Bridge), a testament to the city’s Ottoman heritage and resilience. The area surrounding the bridge is alive with a vibrant bazaar of shops, cafes, and cultural treasures. While in Mostar, we’ll also participate in the Mukabela, a soulful Qur’anic recitation, immersing ourselves in the city’s spiritual traditions.


Iftar by the Neretva River

As the call to iftar echoes, we’ll travel to a secluded spot near Jablanica, where we’ll enjoy a traditional roasted lamb dish by the tranquil Neretva River. For those who prefer, a vegan option can be arranged with prior notice, ensuring a delightful iftar experience for everyone.


Tarawih in Konjic

The evening concludes with Tarawih prayer in Konjic, a picturesque town known for its elegant 16th-century bridge. After prayer, we’ll return to Sarajevo, reflecting on a day filled with spiritual connection, breathtaking landscapes, and cultural discovery.

Farewell to Bosnia: A Morning of Reflection and Prayer

We will begin the day with Suhoor at the hotel, followed by Fajr prayer at Baščaršija Mosque, a serene and historic mosque nestled in Sarajevo’s Old Town. This spiritual start to the day provides a moment of reflection and gratitude for the journey.


Before departing, we will participate in a Mukabela, a collective recitation of the Qur’an, connecting with the rich traditions of Ramadan and drawing inspiration from the faith and unity that define this sacred month.


Bid farewell to Bosnia, carrying with you the blessings of its Islamic heritage and the profound lessons of faith, resilience, and unity. We will arrange your transport to Sarajevo Airport, ensuring a smooth and timely departure
