Day 1:

Capturing the Heart of London

  Morning: Exploring Vibrant Neighborhoods

  • Notting Hill: Our day begins in the charming streets of Notting Hill. Known for its colorful houses and bustling market, this neighborhood offers a perfect blend of architecture and street life. Capture the essence of this iconic location as you wander through its picturesque lanes.
  • King's Cross: Next, we head to King's Cross, a dynamic area where modernity meets history. From the striking architecture of King's Cross Station to the artistic Granary Square, you'll find numerous opportunities to hone your urban photography skills.

Afternoon: Iconic Landmarks

  • Westminster: Our afternoon session takes us to Westminster, home to some of London's most iconic landmarks. Photograph the grandeur of Westminster Abbey and the Houses of Parliament, and capture the timeless beauty of Big Ben from various vantage points.

Evening: City Skyline at Blue Hour

  • City Skyline: As the sun sets, we will position ourselves to capture the mesmerizing transition from day to night. The blue hour shots of the City Skyline, with its illuminated buildings and reflections on the River Thames, will be the perfect way to end our photographic journey for the day. This session will focus on long exposure techniques and mastering the art of night photography.
  • Soho: Our final destination for the day is Soho. Known for its vibrant nightlife and eclectic mix of culture and entertainment, Soho transforms into a lively canvas after dark. Capture the dynamic energy of this neighborhood with its neon lights, bustling streets, and vibrant atmosphere, perfect for street photography enthusiasts.

Architectural Wonders and Panoramic Views

 Morning: Architectural Photography

  • The City: Start your day by exploring the architectural marvels in the heart of London. Capture the sleek lines and towering heights of the city's skyscrapers, juxtaposed with historic buildings.
  • Mansion House: Photograph the grandeur of Mansion House, the official residence of the Lord Mayor of London. Its neoclassical facade provides a striking contrast to the modern cityscape.
  • St. Paul's Cathedral: Next, we'll visit St. Paul's Cathedral, an architectural masterpiece with its iconic dome. Experiment with different angles and perspectives to highlight its majestic presence against the skyline.

Afternoon: Cultural and Scenic Exploration

  • Thames River: Our journey continues along the Thames River, where you'll capture the scenic beauty of London's riverside. Take advantage of the reflections and dynamic scenes along the water.
  • Tate Modern: We will explore the area around Tate Modern, a haven for contemporary art and modern architecture. This is a perfect spot to experiment with abstract compositions and urban photography.

Evening: Sunset and Blue Hour at The Shard

  • The Shard: At 16:00, we will enter The Shard, London's tallest building, to prepare for a breathtaking experience. Capture the cityscape as it transforms during sunset and blue hour from the observation deck. Learn techniques for shooting through glass and maximizing the stunning panoramic views of London as the lights come on.

Street and Architectural Photography in Canary Wharf

 All Day: Exploring Canary Wharf

  • Morning to Evening: Our final day will be spent in Canary Wharf, London's modern financial district, renowned for its striking architecture and vibrant street scenes. The area is a paradise for photographers, offering a mix of towering skyscrapers, reflective glass buildings, and bustling urban life.
    • Morning: Start with capturing the early morning light as it reflects off the modern buildings. Experiment with architectural photography, focusing on the symmetry and sleek lines of the skyscrapers.
    • Midday: As the day progresses, delve into street photography, capturing the dynamic life of Canary Wharf's business district. Look for unique perspectives, reflections, and the interplay of light and shadows among the towering structures.

Christophe is an Award Winning Documentary Filmmaker/Photographer, and a Photography Workshop Instructor. Since 2017 he is a Global Ambassador of Tokina lenses & Hoya filters. He specializes in Travel, Landscape and Astrophotography, as also in Documentary Filmmaking.
