About your trip

Welcome to the cultural capital of the Americas—where the energy and pace of The Big Apple meets the soul of ancient civilizations. Mexico City is big, bold, and bursting with life!

This is where tradition dances with innovation, street food rivals fine dining, and every corner hums with history, music, and color. On this immersive journey, you won’t just visit—you’ll live it, alongside locals, artists, chefs, and storytellers who bring Mexico City to life in ways no guidebook ever could.

Over five unforgettable days, we’ll wander art-filled neighborhoods, bike closed-off Sunday boulevards, and float through the ancient canals of Xochimilco as mariachis play. From Frida Kahlo’s colorful home to pyramids older than the Aztecs, every moment is crafted for deep connection—with culture, community, and each other.

You’ll make tortillas on a floating garden, sculpt clay with a local artisan, and taste the history behind every dish. This is soulful travel—where meals become memories and every encounter feels like a new friend.

From sharing pulque in a family kitchen to salsa dancing at a legendary club, to taking in the Ballet Folklórico beneath the dome of Bellas Artes—this trip lets you feel Mexico City, not just see it.

Craving a journey beyond the postcard? Let’s go! The heart of Mexico is calling—and after this, you’ll never see it the same way again.

This 5-day tour has two dates available in 2026. Both tours take place over U.S. holiday long weekends: February 12–16 and November 7-11

While both tours include the same activities, the daily schedule will be adjusted slightly in November to align with the different days of the week.

Condesa

Welcome to magical Mexico City!

After landing, you’ll be greeted at the airport and whisked away to your centrally located hotel in Condesa—one of the city’s most walkable, tree-lined, and artistic neighborhoods. Once you’ve checked in, the rest of the afternoon is yours to settle in, grab a coffee, or explore the streets just outside your door.

Want to wander? Stroll down Amsterdam Avenue, pop into indie shops, or people-watch from a café patio. Arriving early and want to squeeze in something specific before dinner? Just let us know—we’ll help you plan something fun and easy. Your tour leader’s happy to accompany you and help you get your bearings.

In the evening, we’ll gather for a welcome dinner at one of the area's most creative restaurants, where local chefs are reinventing Mexico’s traditional flavors with global flair. After a festive amuse-bouche in the mezzanine kitchen, you’ll dig into a meal that’s equal parts culinary art and cultural exploration—perfect for kicking off our time together.

Still have energy to burn? Join an optional night out at a legendary salsa club!  We’ll take a short evening stroll, soaking up the buzz of the city at night, before hitting the dance floor. Whether you’re a pro or a total beginner, the rhythm is contagious and the vibes are electric. It’s the perfect way to end our first night!

Teotihuacán Pyramids, Roma

After an early breakfast, we’ll head outside Mexico City’s bustling limits and step into the past—both literally and figuratively—as we journey to the ancient city of Teotihuacán

With its monumental pyramids, sacred avenues, and mysterious energy, this awe-inspiring site invites us to explore a civilization that thrived long before the Aztecs.

Once we’ve explored the site, we’ll be welcomed into something truly special: a one-of-a-kind, home-cooked lunch at our guide’s abuela's (grandmother’s) house. This is no tourist stop—this is a warm, local moment shared with family, over dishes made with generations of love and tradition.

From there, we’ll channel our creativity in a hands-on pottery class with a local artisan! Whether you’re a first-timer or seasoned dabbler, you’ll enjoy shaping clay into your own keepsake—a beautiful, personal reminder of your artistic journey in Mexico.

As the day winds down, we’ll regroup back in Mexico City for a relaxed dinner in the charming Roma neighborhood. We’ll dine al fresco at a leafy garden hideaway, surrounded by twinkling lights and the hum of the city.

DAY 3

DAY 3 image

Xochimilco, Frida Kahlo Museum

This morning, we journey to the southern edges of Mexico City, diving into the enchanting world of Xochimilco—a place where ancestral farming traditions flourish amid a unique, living ecosystem. We’ll glide through the canals aboard a slender wooden cayuco, just like the pre-Hispanic peoples did centuries ago.

Our adventure continues at a Chinampa, one of Xochimilco’s famous floating gardens. Here, we meet Adela, a traditional Mexican cook whose culinary knowledge is rooted deeply in the land. Together, we’ll pick fresh ingredients straight from the fields and learn to craft tortillas from maize and rich, colorful sauces from chilies. This hands-on cooking experience is more than just a class—it’s an invitation to connect with the stories, culture, and soul behind every bite. We’ll then share the meal we’ve created together, savoring flavors and friendships in a peaceful garden setting.

After lunch, it’s time to hop on a Trajinera, the iconic painted boat of Xochimilco. As we float along festive canals, live mariachis serenade us and floating food vendors offer tasty treats.

Our cultural journey continues with a visit to Casa Azul, the Frida Kahlo Museum! Step inside her beautiful home, filled with personal treasures and powerful art that tells the story of a woman who transformed pain into breathtaking creativity. Just nearby, the Anahuacalli Museum awaits—an architectural marvel designed by Diego Rivera to showcase his collection of pre-Hispanic artifacts.

As the day winds down, the evening is yours to explore. Wander through nearby neighborhoods, discover a local eatery that catches your eye, or simply relax and reflect on the day’s discoveries. Your guide is always ready with insider tips.

"Muévete en Bici" City Bike Tour, Ballet Folklórico

Get ready for an unforgettable bike adventure through the heart of Mexico City!

Since it’s Sunday, the city’s streets transform into a dynamic playground for cyclists and pedestrians during “Muévete en Bici” — a grassroots celebration where you can dive into the city’s energetic spirit on two wheels.

We’ll pedal along the iconic Paseo de la Reforma, soaking in a parade of towering skyscrapers, historic monuments, and green spaces including Chapultepec Park, a sprawling urban oasis bursting with nature, where we’ll make a special stop at the Ethnobotanical Garden to discover the deep connections between plants and Mexican culture.

After building up an appetite, it’s time for a true taste of local flavors with a lunch that highlights the rich, authentic street food culture of Mexico City. Think sizzling tacos, spicy chilies, and bold, fresh ingredients. Yum!

As evening falls, we gather for a farewell dinner filled with reimagined culinary classics and inventive cocktails. The terrace view of the restaurant that overlooks the city’s historic heart adds just the right touch of magic.

We will then step into the historic center for the breathtaking Ballet Folklórico at Palacio de Bellas Artes. This 90-minute spectacle is a dazzling journey through Mexico’s history and culture, and is the perfect celebration of the country’s spirit through the arts—an unforgettable way to end our adventure!
