About your trip

Get ready to embark on an incredible journey through the heart and soul of beautiful Thailand, and experience it all during one of the most exciting times of the year: Thailand’s New Year celebration!

This adventure takes you beyond the typical tourist trail, inviting you to explore Bangkok’s bustling streets, peaceful temples, and winding canals; to step back in time among the magnificent ruins of Sukhothai, Thailand’s first capital; and to discover the rich culture and mountain charm of Chiang Mai, a city known for its ancient temples, creative spirit, and warm hospitality.

You’ll dive deep into the local way of life with experiences designed to engage your senses and open your heart. Cruise along the iconic Chao Phraya River, marvel at the giant golden Reclining Buddha, and watch the evening chanting ceremony that few travelers get to see.

But the real showstopper? Songkran, the world-famous Thai New Year water festival, where the streets erupt into massive, joyful water fights you have to see (and splash) to believe!

Another truly special highlight of this journey is our visit to Elephant Nature Park, an ethical sanctuary tucked in the hills outside Chiang Mai that provides a safe home for rescued elephants. You’ll get up close with these gentle giants, helping prepare their meals, feeding them by hand, and walking alongside them through the forest as they roam freely. Watching the elephants swim and play in the river (without the usual tourist rides or tricks) is a deeply moving experience that changes the way you see these magnificent creatures forever.

Throughout your trip, you’ll enjoy carefully selected accommodations, expert local guides, and a perfect mix of guided adventures and free time to explore on your own. Whether it’s wandering night markets, learning to cook authentic Thai dishes in an intimate class, soaking in the peaceful beauty of ancient ruins, or catching a dazzling, high-energy drag show that’s as fabulous as it is fun (wink, wink), every day is packed with discovery and connection.

OPTIONAL ADD-ON:

And for those who want to extend the magic, our optional 3-night island escape to Koh Samui offers a dreamy tropical finale. Picture palm-lined beaches, crystal-clear waters, and colorful coral reefs waiting to be explored by snorkel or kayak. Spend your days lounging by the pool or diving into sunrise yoga and Muay Thai classes on the sand. Explore charming fishing villages by bike or savor fresh seafood dinners with the sound of the waves as your soundtrack. It’s the perfect way to unwind, soak up the island vibe, and add a splash of pure paradise to your Thai adventure.

Our trips are specifically crafted for each group, ensuring every aspect is tailored to our preferences. You can trust us to provide the best and most unique tour possible, making your journey truly special! Arrival Day in Bangkok

Welcome to Thailand!

We’ll meet in Bangkok, settle into our comfy hotel, and start getting to know each other. Arriving early? Your tour leader will be around with tips and ideas if you’re up for exploring. That night, we’ll dive into our first Thai meal together—spicy, flavorful, and unforgettable. It’s the perfect start to this epic journey!

DAY 2 (APR 10) image

Bangkok

Today we’ll explore Bangkok from a different angle—by boat. Cruising along the Chao Phraya River and its winding canals, we’ll pass traditional stilt houses, spirit shrines, and scenes of everyday life that feel worlds away from the city's urban rush.

Then we head to Wat Pho, one of Thailand’s most sacred sites, to marvel at the 150-foot-long golden Reclining Buddha. After wandering the temple’s courtyards and intricate halls, we’ll quietly witness the monks’ evening chanting—a powerful, meditative moment that few travelers get to experience.

As twilight settles over the city, we’ll cross the river for a special dinner overlooking the illuminated spires of Wat Arun. With its porcelain tiles catching the last rays of daylight, it’s a breathtaking view—and the perfect end to a day steeped in tradition, tranquility, and awe.

DAY 3 (APR 11)

DAY 3 (APR 11) image

Bangkok

Today we’re diving into one of Thailand’s most iconic traditions—the floating market! Picture wooden canoes gliding through narrow canals, piled high with mangoes, coconuts, and sizzling snacks fresh off the grill. These markets have been central to Thai life for generations, and you’ll experience the sights, sounds, and flavors firsthand as we snack our way through lunch right on the water.

After our market adventure, we’ll head back to Bangkok for a free afternoon to do your own thing. Craving a little calm? Wander the tree-lined paths of Lumphini Park. Want a taste of the city’s sleek side? Check out a mega-mall (hello, air conditioning and interesting foods). Or just explore a new neighborhood, grab a local coffee, and people-watch from a shady spot.

Once the sun goes down, we’ll crank up the fun with a dazzling drag show—think over-the-top costumes, catchy tunes, cheeky humor, and seriously good vibes. It's a crowd favorite for a reason!

If you're still going strong, join us after for optional rooftop drinks with sweeping views of the Bangkok skyline. It’s the kind of night you’ll be talking about long after the tour’s over.

Bangkok & Sukhothai

This morning, we’ll catch a short flight to Sukhothai, Thailand’s very first capital and the birthplace of Thai language, art, and architecture. This ancient city holds a special place in the country’s heart, and once we arrive, you’ll see why. After we check into our peaceful hotel, we’ll head out to explore the incredible Sukhothai Historical Park—a UNESCO World Heritage Site that feels like stepping into a living museum.

Set among quiet gardens, lotus ponds, and peaceful tree-lined paths, the park is home to the beautifully preserved remains of temples, shrines, and city walls from the 13th and 14th centuries. As we stroll through the grounds, we’ll visit highlights like Wat Mahathat, where stone pillars lead to a massive seated Buddha, and Wat Si Chum, where a 49-foot-tall Buddha peers out from within a narrow stone chamber—majestic and humbling all at once. It’s a place that invites reflection, wonder, and a deep connection to Thailand’s roots. Afterward, we’ll return to our hotel for a relaxed evening and dinner under the stars.

Sukothai

Today’s all about diving headfirst into the wild, wonderful chaos of Songkran—the legendary Thai New Year water festival!

We’ll start with a peaceful morning at a local temple, soaking in the calming alms offerings and water blessings where fragrant water is gently poured over Buddha statues, washing away the old and inviting fresh good vibes. It’s a beautiful, heartfelt tradition that sets the perfect tone before the real splash zone opens up.

As the sun climbs, the streets explode with laughter, music, and—yes—water flying everywhere! Buckets, hoses, water guns—you name it, locals young and old are drenching each other in good-natured fun. You can jump right into the madness with the group or roam freely to explore the celebration your own way. Either way, you’re in for a day filled with smiles, surprises, and soaked-to-the-bone memories you won’t forget.

Get ready to laugh, splash, and maybe get a little wild—because Songkran is hands-down one of the most exhilarating, joyful parties on the planet!

When we arrive, we’ll settle into our hotel nestled in Chiang Mai’s historic old town—a labyrinth of narrow lanes, ancient temples, and vibrant markets just waiting to be discovered. As evening falls, we’ll dive into the electric energy of one of Chiang Mai’s bustling night markets, where we’ll savor a variety of Northern Thai dishes bursting with bold, unforgettable flavors. Chiang Mai

This morning, we’ll trade temples and tuk-tuks for tranquility as we head into the lush Chiang Mai countryside for a traditional Thai spa experience

Nestled in a peaceful natural setting, surrounded by soft mountain breezes and birdsong, you’ll get to indulge in treatments rooted in centuries-old local wellness practices. Think herbal compresses, aromatherapy oils, and gentle Thai massage techniques that leave you feeling completely refreshed and rebalanced. This region is known for its holistic approach to health, and today is your chance to slow down and soak it in.

Afterwards, we’ll head back to Chiang Mai with the afternoon free for you to enjoy at your own pace. Take a nap, grab a smoothie at a local café, wander the quiet backstreets in search of a hidden temple—or all of the above. It’s your time to explore, rest, or just do whatever feels good.

In the evening, we’ll regroup at a small, family-run cooking school tucked away just outside the city. Under the guidance of our warm and welcoming hosts, we’ll learn to prepare classic Thai dishes like Pad Thai, spicy and aromatic Tom Yum soup, and sweet Mango Sticky Rice. You'll get hands-on with fresh ingredients, laugh over your wok technique, and finish the night sharing a home-cooked feast together. It’s the kind of experience that not only fills your belly—but your heart, too.

DAY 8 (APR 16)

DAY 8 (APR 16) image

Chiang Mai, Elephant Nature Park

Today is something truly special! We’ll rise early and head into the forested hills outside Chiang Mai for a full-day visit to Elephant Nature Park, a renowned sanctuary dedicated to the ethical care and rehabilitation of rescued elephants. These gentle giants, many of whom have been saved from years of hard labor or neglect, now live in peace and dignity thanks to the incredible work of this grassroots conservation project.

Our day begins with an introduction to the sanctuary’s mission and the powerful shift it's helping to create in elephant tourism. Then, we’ll get hands-on: preparing banana rice balls and other healthy snacks before feeding the elephants in designated areas. After that, we’ll walk alongside them (no rides here!) through the forest, observing them as they forage, graze, and just be elephants—rubbing against trees, pulling down bamboo, and snacking on whatever they find. Down by the river, we’ll watch them splash, swim, and play from a respectful distance—free to enjoy life on their terms.

After a delicious vegetarian buffet lunch, we’ll spend time learning about the individual stories of the sanctuary’s herds, watching them from shaded viewing platforms. It’s a powerful, heart-expanding day that will stay with you long after we return to Chiang Mai in the late afternoon.
