Escape with us this winter as we step away from winter and into a private beachside paradise located on Banderas Bay on Mexico's Pacific coast.
We will spend 8 days and 7 nights at the boutique wellness center, Mixto. Mixto is located just outside of Puerta Vallarta, right next to its big sister resort, Xinalani. Xinalani has been recognized as a 3-Key Michelin Hotel, representing the pinnacle of luxury accommodations and offering a truly extraordinary stay. Mixto is the quietly well-appointed little sibling, starting as a day spa for Xinalani guests and quickly growing into it's own as a private wellness center and resort. At Mixto, you will find the same attention to detail, healthy meals and focus on wellness.
Mixto is only accessible by boat - which makes all the difference. Pick up what you need before boarding and put an auto-response on your email. Designed with intention and rooted in holistic living, Mixto offers everything you need for a meaningful and impactful week under the guidance of Mixto's team trained in wellness hospitality. If you're up for more adventure during your stay, Xinalani is an easy walk down the sandy trail for Mixto guests. You can relax with a spa treatment or book an eco-tour adventure, creating your perfect blend of peace and activity. Every detail of your trip is crafted to support deep connection, growth, and restoration. The possibilities to create a fully personalized experience for your week are endless.
Devon Crahan is creative force and heart behind Intentional Yoga, Portage's home for movement, heat, and human connection. Known for his powerful, feel-good classes that blend sweat, strength, and soul, Devon guides you to move with purpose and reconnect to what's real: your confidence, your breath, your wholeness.
For over fourteen years, Devon has been helping build a community that's about more than yoga...it's about belonging. He's led Intentional Yoga retreats everywhere from Morocco to Guatemala, Costa Rica to Mackinac Island, creating experiences that fuse travel, transformation, and pure adventure.
When he's not on the mat, you'll find him exploring the world, chasing sunsets with his wife, Von, and dreaming up new ways to bring people together. This year, he's thrilled to lead the studio's first journey to Mexico, an unforgettable week of movement, intention, and joy.
Start by finding your travel buddy and choosing your accommodations. A $500 deposit per person is required to reserve your spot. Flexible payment plans can be set up at no extra charge, contact our retreat coordinator for options (nicole@intentionalyoga.com). The balance is due 2 weeks before departure.
GETTING TO MEXICO
Finding your way to Mixto couldn't be easier; plan on flying into Puerto Vallarta International Airport, PVR. There is a direct flight from Detroit.
Book an arrival flight that lands no later than 4:00 PM and a departure flight that takes off no earlier than 12:00 PM. There are no roads to Mixto, so the extra time is needed for boat transportation.
GETTING TO MIXTO
After landing at Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR), take a moment to change into comfortable clothes for your trip to Xinalani. You’ll be traveling by water, so expect to get wet up to your knees when stepping off the boat and onto the beach. We suggest wearing shorts, sandals, and sunscreen. We also recommend safeguarding your cell phone and valuables in a waterproof dry bag.
Your Mixto/Xinalani hosts will greet you at the airport and assist your transfer to the pier of API Terminal Maritima in Marina Vallarta (15 min). From the Marina, the boat trip to Xinalani takes 45 min. A bellhop will help transfer your bags and the staff will guide you to Mixto for your stay.
A US passport that is valid for 6 months past your last day of travel is required for entry to Mexico.
LIFE HAPPENS
We can't over-emphasize the importance of travel insurance. Whether it's family, work, or mother nature, it is important to be prepared for the unexpected when you're away from home. Often travel insurance is less than $150 and can give you the peace of mind that you're covered when "life happens".
There are 3 kinds of insurance - TRIP CANCELLATION, TRIP DELAY/INTERRUPTION, and MEDICAL/EMERGENCY. We encourage you purchase coverage for all 3 situations.
We have heard good things about the insurance marketplace InsureMyTrip. They can help connect you with a plan that works for your needs (www.insuremytrip.com). You can also reach out to your current insurance provider or a travel agent for more information.
