Departing Ireland

Flight and Arrival Details:

For the convenience of all athletes and supporters, we have arranged an evening flight from Dublin to Barcelona. This timing allows everyone to comfortably make their way to Dublin Airport without rushing. Here are the flight details:

  • Departure from Dublin: 16:50
  • Arrival in Barcelona (BCN): 20:25

Upon landing in Barcelona, we will proceed directly to our hotel. We expect to arrive at the hotel by approximately 21:30, giving everyone ample time to check in. After settling into our accommodations, there will be an opportunity to grab a quick bite to eat at the hotel. This will help ensure that all participants can get the much-needed rest to recharge for the exciting days ahead.

Final Marathon Preparations

Following an early breakfast at the hotel, we'll gather as a group for a light shakeout run. This short, easy run is a great way to loosen up your muscles and shake off any travel stiffness. It's also a wonderful opportunity to bond with fellow runners and soak in the morning energy of Barcelona.

After our run, we'll head over to the marathon expo to register for the event. Collecting your race packet and browsing the various booths can be an exciting part of the marathon experience, offering a chance to check out new gear, sample products, and feel the buzz of anticipation from runners from around the world.

Post-registration, the day is yours to enjoy at a leisurely pace. We encourage everyone to 'graze' on food throughout the day—keeping energy levels up with light, nutritious meals and snacks. This is an excellent strategy to ensure you're well-fueled for race day without feeling overloaded.

In addition to eating, take some time to casually explore Barcelona. Whether it's a stroll through the Gothic Quarter, a quick visit to one of the city's many iconic landmarks like the Sagrada Familia, or just relaxing in a café, enjoy the vibrant culture and beautiful scenery at your own pace.

This relaxed day will help set the tone for your marathon, allowing you to prepare mentally and physically in the way that suits you best. We understand that everyone has their own pre-race rituals and will respect this individual preparation time.

In the evening, we'll reconvene as a group for a briefing. This meeting will cover important details about race day logistics, including transportation to the start line, the timing of events, and tips for navigating the course. After our discussion, we'll wrap up early to ensure everyone can get a good night's sleep before the big day.

Day 3

Marathon Day

Today is the moment we’ve all been training for! Let's kick things off with an early breakfast to fuel up for the challenge ahead. Once we’re energized, we’ll take a leisurely 10-minute walk together to the marathon start line, feeling the excitement build with every step.

Remember, there’s a 6-hour cutoff for the marathon, so let’s aim to cross that finish line by 3 PM—just in time to switch from marathon mode to celebration mode. That’s right, after the race, it’s all about enjoying a well-earned beer (or your drink of choice)!

Details of the post-marathon festivities will be finalized closer to the date, but rest assured, the after-party will be the true test of endurance. Prepare to celebrate your incredible achievement with an evening full of fun and camaraderie.

Let's make this a day to remember—run strong, have fun, and savor every moment of our marathon adventure!

Reeling in the success and home time

After the monumental effort of yesterday’s marathon, enjoy a well-deserved lie-in this morning. If you're feeling up to it, a dip in the hotel pool is a great way to kickstart your recovery. Whether you're soaking sore legs or simply relaxing, today is all about unwinding and making the most of your final hours in this incredible city.

Barcelona still has so much to offer — from world-famous architecture and lively neighbourhoods to mouthwatering local food. Today is your chance to explore at your own pace, revisit your favourite spots, or discover something new. You've earned every moment.

Departure Options

This year, we’re offering two return flight options to suit your schedule:

  • Early Return Flight: Departs Barcelona at 11:00 AM, ideal for those needing to be home sooner. A private minibus will transfer this group to the airport in the morning.

  • Late Return Flight: Departs Barcelona at 21:05, arriving in Dublin at 22:45. This is our group’s main flight and includes a full final day in Barcelona. Hotel check-out is at 13:00, with bus transfer to the airport at 18:00.

Please choose the option that works best for you when booking. Whether you fly early or late, we recommend planning onward travel from Dublin in advance for a smooth and stress-free return.

Make the most of your final hours in Barcelona — celebrate, explore, and reflect on an unforgettable weekend with the AGR crew!
