About your trip

A six-month hybrid journey for the inward season, blending online study, live mentorship, and optional restorative retreats in the mountains of Utah. Train at a sustainable pace, with trauma-informed teaching at the heart of everything you do.

Why Trauma-Informed Teaching Matters

At HEAL, we believe yoga should never overwhelm the body; it should teach the body safety again. This 200-hour training is built around nervous-system awareness, embodied consent, and a deep respect for each student’s lived experience. Our trauma-informed approach is guided by seven core pillars:

  • Teacher first, student second, asana third

  • Self-regulation before holding space

  • Language that honors boundaries

  • Developing bodily intelligence

  • Yoga as action + reflection

  • Breath leads, body follows, mind observes

  • Teacher neutrality

This isn’t just another teacher training. It’s a paradigm shift in how we teach, why we teach, and how we show up for ourselves and our students.

Why Choose HEAL's Yoga Teacher Training

Trauma-Informed Foundations:

Learn to teach from regulation, safety, and compassion. Every module weaves together nervous-system literacy, boundary-honoring language, somatic awareness, and the seven trauma-informed pillars that anchor this training.

Hybrid Flexibility, Embodied Depth:

Study online at your own pace with a rich library of recorded content, while joining monthly live intensives (optional) and two optional 5-day retreats in October and April for deeper embodiment and community.

Heart-Centered Mentorship:

You’re not just a name on a roster. You’ll receive live mentorship in small groups, compassionate feedback, and guidance that honors you as a whole human navigating real life, not just as a trainee ticking boxes.

Teach with Integrity:

Rooted in classical philosophy and modern trauma science, this curriculum supports you in leading classes that are inclusive, ethical, and grounded in genuine care rather than performative perfection.

The October to April Journey:

October - Optional Foundational Retreat

November – Foundations and Trauma Informed Intention
December – The Language of the Body
January – Philosophy in Motion
