We usually find SkyScanner & booking.com have the most competitive prices. We've seen return flights from the UK for £60!
We'll ask for this during the booking process
We provide 3 meals per day, but timings may be irregular due to the river/weather conditions. You know you, so pack snacks if you need to.
We'll send out a small packing list during booking - what to wear and what to bring.
Pickup from Sarajevo city centre at 10:00, transfer approx 3 hours to base camp, on the banks of the River Tara. Kev & Tom will be there to greet you and give a welcome brief. You can spend a few hours getting acquainted with your new landscape and fellow expedition members before evening dinner and relax around the fire-pit.
Hot (wood fired) showers and storage are available.
Please note, at some point during the drive you will lose signal and there is no connection at base camp. Time to disconnect.
After breakfast we will take a stunning 3 hour drive through Durmitor National Park to Slijivansko, our start point for the River Tara. We will paddle 2-3 hours to Dragan's Farm, where we will pitch tents for the night. A real insight into remote, rural Montenegrin life.
After a camp breakfast, we set off for our second day on the River Tara. With the clear flowing water beneath us, 20km will be a cruise and we will have plenty of time to stop, swim, play and soak in the awe-inspiring landscape around us. We'll find a spot on the riverbank, miles away from anywhere for a proper wild camp.
Wake up in the wild. We have another 20km of glorious class I/II blue water in the most remote section of the canyon, weaving our way back to base camp.
Jurassic Park vibes!
Today we tackle the most challenging of the rapids, the 13km rafting section all the way to the Montenegro/Bosnia border. The short distance gives us plenty of time to stop, scout and plan our lines through these exciting rapids. Or maybe you'd rather just hop in the raft or portage? No pressure.
Once we reach the border, we'll transfer back to base camp and for one last night, have a shower, home cooked meal and regale our river stories around the fire.
After your final breakfast, we have a transfer back to Sarajevo Airport, or city centre if you prefer, with new found skills, friends and amazing stories from your wild adventure.
