Just an hour from the city, the Cape Winelands are the heart of South African wine and cuisine, and a spectacular setting for riding from scenic winery to picturesque vineyard, stopping for wine tastings paired with delicious meals along the way. South African wines are world-renowned and pair deliciously with cuisine influenced by South Africa's diversity.

The horses you will enjoy in the Winelands vary as widely as the guests - breeds from all over the world with many different sizes, shapes, and temperaments, with something for riders of every level.
All Levels Welcome
Riders should be able to ride comfortably at all paces, and spend several hours in the saddle daily. For beginner riders, slower-paced and shorter rides can be arranged.
Horses will be in English or trail saddles.
This ride will traverse through vineyards and orchards and up into the mountains, overlooking the wineries of the region. There will be opportunities to trot and canter, as well as slow, meandering trails through the hills.
Riders will stay in guesthouses and B&Bs in the Cape Town and Cape Winelands area. Venues vary year by year and with availability, but all offer quaint and unique accommodations in the tradition of the region.
The food and wine of South Africa is world-renowned. Dinners will be offered at various gourmet restaurants in the Cape Town city center and the Cape Winelands region, and lunches will be en-route on each day’s tour.

Additional activities not included in the itinerary
Arrival at Cape Town International Airport and transfer to the hotel. Spend the afternoon relaxing and getting settled in. Group dinner and introductions at the V&A Waterfront.
After breakfast at the hotel, we will enjoy a full-day tour of the city of Cape Town, including a cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain, and either a walking or cycling tour of the city from the V&A Waterfront. Dinner TBD.
After breakfast at the hotel, we will depart for the Cape Peninsula and spend the day visiting the penguin colony at Boulder’s Beach, taking a stroll around Cape Point and the lighthouse, and exploring the seaside towns along the way. Dinner will be in a seaside restaurant in Hout Bay.
After breakfast at the hotel, we will leave for the winelands. We will spend several hours in the saddle as we ride from winery to winery for wine tastings along the way, and then have dinner in one of the Cape Wineland’s many famous restaurants.
