Fuentes Georginas is a natural hot spring resort located in the municipality of Zunil, about 16 km (approx. 40 minutes) southeast of Quetzaltenango (Xela). It is one of Guatemala's most famous destinations for relaxation, known for its mineral-rich waters heated by the nearby Zunil Volcano. 

• Volcanic Pools: The facility features seven pools with temperatures ranging from pleasantly warm to "super hot" (up to 50°C/122°F).

• Lush Environment: Nestled at an altitude of over 2,500 meters, the springs are surrounded by a cloud forest with thick tropical foliage and mountain views.

• Hidden Pools: Beyond the main areas, there are "secret" pools accessible via a steep trail (about 70+ steps) that offer a more private experience for an additional fee.

• Operating Hours: Daily from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

• Entrance Fees:

  • Foreigners: Q60 (approx. $8).

  • Nationals: Q40.

• Amenities: On-site restaurant, basic changing rooms, lockers (for a fee), and rustic bungalows for overnight stays.  Ask us for reservation

Travel Tips

• Cash Only: No credit cards or checks are accepted; you must pay for entry and all services in cash.

• What to Bring: Bring a towel, swimsuit, water shoes (steps can be slippery), and warm clothing for after your soak, as the mountain air is chilly.

Our tour starts at 09am or 13pm with about 2 hours at the springs to enjoy , the pick up and drop off is door to door as long as you are in the center of the city Quetzaltenango ( Xela )
