We will watch the light change through the twilight hours and practice taking blue hour images for foreground composites. Not sure what that means? Don't worry, we'll teach you!
As the stars come out we will cover the basics of creating sharp, in focus single exposures of the Milky Way, and begin to cover more advanced techniques such as stacking, as well as an introduction to shooting time lapse sequences.
Time: 6 hours
This afternoon we gather for a group editing session where your instructor breaks down the complete workflow for importing, organizing, editing, and publishing nightscape photography. Techniques and workflows demonstrated using Adobe Lightroom Classic, Photoshop, and Starry Landscape Stacker, but are applicable to other software suites as well.
After our editing session we break for dinner before meeting up for our second on location sunset to stars shoot. Tonight will focus on shooting panoramas, time lapses, stacking, and the basics of using a star tracker.
Time: 3 Hours in afternoon Editing Workshop, 6 hours in field shooting.
Today schedule a one on one review with your instructor to go over your images, discuss editing techniques, and find your growth edges in nightscape photography. These sessions are open to your specific level and interests, and are designed to help you maximize your growth as a photographer and the development of your personal style.
We meet as a group for one last night of shooting in the field to use all the skills we've gained to capture our best night sky images over Sedona!
