Wake up early and head to the nearby Amazigh Village of Imlil. After breakfast overlooking the picturesque High Atlas Mountains, embark on a two-hour hike through the mountains and stop for tea and an open Q&A at an Amazigh family home.
Have lunch and head back towards Marrakech but take a detour towards the rock desert of Agafay. Spend the night in a tent under the stars. Hop on a camel for a ride through the desert and photograph the dramatic Saharan sunset as the caravan strolls along camp. Sit down for tea and local cuisine while enjoying the rhythmic beats of desert musicians around a campfire.
Overnight: The White Camel, Agafay
Enjoy the amenities at the white camel before you head to Essaouira! Hang out in the white-walled medina and watch the seagulls overhead in the town known for its annual Gnaoua World Music Festival. Stroll through the friendly European-style streets and barter for sunglasses, handicrafts, and textiles while munching on a delicious crepe from a street vendor.
Overnight: Riad Almadina, Essaouira
Rise and shine for a full day in Essaouira (or Sweera as locals call it). Walk to the beach and take part in a surfing lesson. Have lunch and enjoy coffee on your hotel's terrace.
In the afternoon, you will join one of our local experts and learn about the city's history.
Dinner tonight is independent
Overnight: Riad Almadina, Essaouira
Drive to Marrakech and enjoy lunch with a host family. Meet a group of young Moroccans for an open Q&A about life in Morocco, politics, and education.
