About your trip

Join me in February 2027 for a truly magical winter photography workshop in Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks—two of the Southwest’s most iconic landscapes transformed by snow, quiet, and luminous winter light. This is one of the rare times of year when these parks reveal their most intimate character. Crowds thin, the air turns crisp, and the sandstone cliffs, hoodoos, and winding canyons take on an entirely new dimension under a fresh winter blanket.

From Zion’s sculpted red rock corridors to Bryce Canyon’s surreal amphitheater of spires, we’ll position ourselves for the best conditions the season offers. Think first light breaking across a snow-covered Bryce rim, soft reflected glow in Zion Canyon, and icy patterns forming along the Virgin River. Every session is designed not just to put you in beautiful places—but to help you see more deeply, compose more intentionally, and elevate your creative vision.

This workshop is intentionally kept small and highly personalized, allowing for meaningful one-on-one instruction in the field. You won’t be lost in a crowd or waiting your turn for help. Instead, you’ll receive thoughtful guidance tailored to your skill level, creative goals, and the conditions we encounter. The pace is supportive, collaborative, and focused on helping you come away with your strongest work.

Beyond the sweeping vistas and dramatic canyon walls, we’ll also spend time in Zion exploring the quiet power of the intimate landscape. Winter reveals details many photographers overlook—delicate ice formations along the river’s edge, crimson leaves suspended in frost, snow-dusted boulders among bare cottonwoods, and soft light grazing textured sandstone. These fleeting moments offer rich opportunities for creative storytelling. We’ll slow down, observe carefully, and work both the grand scene and the small, poetic details that give winter in the desert its soul.

If you’d like a sense of what it’s like to travel and learn with me, I encourage you to scroll down and read the five-star reviews from past participants. Their experiences speak volumes about the level of care, instruction, and attention that defines these workshops.

I would love to have you join us for this special winter journey.
