About your trip

Rise early for an unforgettable journey to Magdalena Bay, one of only three primary breeding and calving lagoons for the Pacific gray whale. From December to March, after an epic 5,000-mile migration from the Arctic, these majestic whales gather in the calm, protected waters of the bay to mate and give birth.

Join us for a rare and intimate glimpse into their world. Our gray whale day trips are private and exclusively available to guests booked through Panterra. We limit each panga to just 7 guests plus a Panterra naturalist to ensure a close-up, respectful, and immersive experience.

Trips are 3 to 4 hours in length and also include exceptional birdwatching opportunities along the mangrove-lined estuaries.
