What our travelers say about our trips

“The trip with GoNP was absolutely amazing. Where I live, I don’t have many gay guys I can go hiking with, so to meet guys from all over the country who are passionate about the outdoors was incredible. I went on the trip to build community and I did just that.”

-Kyle from North Carolina

“I knew it would be fun. I didn’t expect a heart-forward adventure. As an ‘advanced beginner’ in camping and hiking, I couldn’t have asked for a kinder, more helpful, and more caring group of queers. I had a blast and left with new friends and incredible memories.”

-Chris from San Francisco, CA

“I think we often hear about the shared queer experience of not fitting in or feeling fully safe in non-queer spaces. But truthfully, I’ve also always felt somewhat on the periphery of queer spaces, like someone who arrived late to a party and couldn't’ quite break into the circle or catch up on the conversation. I spent the last week surrounded by a group of queer men and felt both welcome and at ease in way I haven’t ever experienced before. Although I’ve been extremely out of the closet for several years now, I’m also still learning about and growing into this facet of my identity. It felt really special to do some of that learning and growing with these incredible people.”

-Jiwan from San Diego, CA

“I joined the GoNP for a week to visit Big Bend National Park and see the total solar eclipse in April 2024, only knowing the organizer, who I randomly met abroad the previous year. I had never been to the United States and didn’t have many expectations, but it was truly a great week for me, probably the best of my life. It was a rare occasion in the queer community that wasn’t about dating or hooking up but having deep conversations with new best friends for life and enjoying the beauty of the national parks at the same time. I am so grateful to myself to have blindly said yes to this trip!”

-Julian from Germany
