About your trip

Ready for an unforgettable weekend of saltwater adventure? Join us in sunny Crystal River, Florida, for two epic days on the water! One offshore fishing and one inshore scalloping. It’s the perfect blend of coastal vibes! You’ll be aboard a stunning 31' Cape Horn boat with an experienced charter team, fishing offshore wrecks, reefs, ledges, and rock piles. We’ll be targeting highly sought-after species like gag grouper, cobia, kingfish, sheepshead, and different types of snapper. Whether you’re an experienced angler or new to off shore fishing, you’ll be set up for success and fun.

  • 6-hour offshore fishing charter targeting gag grouper, cobia, kingfish, sheepshead, and a variety of snapper species
  • 4-hour inshore scalloping adventure
  • All fishing and scalloping gear provided by the charter and fish cleaning is completed by the charter captain
  • No fishing license required , you’re covered under the charter’s commercial license
Note: Scallop cleaning is not included in the trip price. However, there are several services available at the marina who will clean and package your catch for a small fee.

Then, we’ll head inshore for a 4 hour scalloping trip, think of it like an underwater Easter egg hunt in the Gulf. You’ll float in the clear, shallow waters (3–7 feet) and snorkel for fresh, delicious bay scallops during peak season. The charter provides everything you need; gear, guidance, and great energy!

If you plan to fly home with your catch, we’ll share tips on how to pack and transport your fish and scallops, including carry-on and checked bag options. Many travelers use soft-sided coolers with gel packs or dry ice. We’ll help you plan so your seafood stays fresh and delicious!

Itinerary Snapshot:

  • Thursday: Arrive after 5 PM and settle in
  • Friday: Full-day offshore fishing
  • Saturday: Morning/early afternoon scalloping adventure
  • Sunday: Wrap up by 10 AM and head home or extend your trip!

TARGET SPECIES + REGULATIONS

If you're flying home and want to bring your catch with you, simply bring a carry-on bag that you can pack the fish and scallops in. We’ll freeze or refrigerate your catch before you leave, so it stays fresh for your flight home. Many travelers choose to carry their fish in a cooler with gel packs or dry ice to maintain a safe temperature, and you can also check an extra bag if you prefer. Just make sure to consult with your airline about their rules for transporting frozen fish, as each airline may have slightly different policies.

Fishing License:

No need to worry about purchasing individual fishing licenses for this trip! Our charter covers everyone on board under their commercial fishing license, so you’ll be legally good to go without needing to buy a separate license for yourself.

With everything taken care of, all you need to do is enjoy the adventure and make memories with your fellow anglers. From the thrill of catching your next big fish to diving for those incredible scallops, this trip will be one for the books!

LODGING ACCOMMODATION

We’ll be staying in a cozy AirBNB in Crystal River, just minutes from where we’ll board the boat each morning. The house features three bedrooms, four beds, and two bathrooms, ensuring comfort for everyone (though a few will share beds for a little extra camaraderie!). After fishing, unwind in the spacious backyard, or head out to explore the charming town of Crystal River and Homosassa.

FAQ’S AND POLICY

Yes, we know this part might seem a bit tedious, but it’s important! We kindly ask that everyone who registers for a trip visits the FAQs and Policy page on our website. If you sign up for a trip without reviewing this information, it’s your responsibility. There’s a wealth of valuable information there that could influence your decision. Please make sure to check out all the FAQs and Policies on our website before signing up for a trip with us. Thank you!

EXPECTATIONS + NO DRAMA

We want to ensure that every trip with Her Wilderness is enjoyable and memorable, but we acknowledge that sometimes things don’t go as planned. Mother Nature has a significant impact on our outdoor adventures, so we encourage you to approach each trip with a positive attitude and a "go with the flow" mindset. If this feels unreasonable to you, we kindly ask that you reconsider registering for our events. Weather can be unpredictable, affecting activities like hiking, hunting, and fishing, and our top priority is always your safety. For instance, if your trip is focused on duck hunting but our guide believes a goose hunt is more feasible, we will follow their expert recommendation. If this kind of flexibility is not something you're comfortable with, we encourage you to think twice about joining us. We expect all participants to maintain a positive attitude, regardless of the circumstances. Many of our trips have faced changes, cancellations, or rescheduling, yet the understanding and adaptability of the group have made all the difference that still allows for an incredible experience! We take pride in creating fun experiences, even in challenging situations. Please be aware that our trips may involve sharing accommodations with others, unpredictable weather that could impact planned activities, limited bathroom facilities for larger groups, and the possibility of not harvesting the specific animal you hoped for. These are real scenarios that can arise, and while we’ll do our best to minimize issues, they can happen. We strive to maintain a drama-free and stress-free environment. If any participant brings negativity or drama, they will be asked to leave without a refund and will not be allowed to return. Our goal is to ensure that everyone feels comfortable and valued, so we ask for your cooperation in keeping a cool, calm, and collected attitude throughout the trip. We truly appreciate each of our customers and are committed to providing the best possible experience for all participants. Thank you for understanding, and we look forward to creating unforgettable memories together!
