About your trip

Welcome to wild South Texas, where desert skies, rugged country, and powerful rams set the stage for an unforgettable hunting experience. Join Her Wilderness for a weekend of guided rifle hunting just outside of Benavides, TX, where you'll pursue four uniquely stunning species of exotic rams across a remote and beautifully wild landscape. Over the course of 1.5 days, hunters will have the chance to pursue Texas Dall, Corsican, Black Hawaiian, and Painted Desert rams, each with their own striking characteristics and challenging behaviors. These free-ranging exotics are known for their bold curls and powerful presence, typically ranging from ½ to ¾ curl—ideal for those seeking a meaningful and visually impressive trophy.

This fully guided hunt is conducted with rifles, and hunters are welcome to bring a .223, .243, or .270 caliber firearm. A 100-yard shooting range is available onsite for sight-in before the hunt begins. Whether you're a seasoned hunter or stepping into the field for the first time, our experienced guides will be by your side, offering support, safety, and strategy throughout the weekend.

TARGET SPECIES + REGULATIONS

LODGE LIFE + OFF-HUNT PERKS
You'll stay in comfortable shared lodging at the hunting property, where rustic charm meets South Texas hospitality. Between hunts, enjoy laid-back moments with new friends, practice your aim with some recreational shooting, or relax by casting a line into the onsite fishing pond. It's a weekend to slow down, connect with nature, and enjoy the fullness of the outdoors. Our team will assist with caping and quartering your game, ensuring your harvest is field-prepared and ready for your return trip. A valid Texas hunting license is required to participate.

WHICH RAM WILL YOU CHOOSE?
In South Texas, we have the rare opportunity to ethically pursue exotic rams—non-native species that are fully legal to hunt on private land year-round, with no bag or possession limits. Here’s a closer look at the four incredible species you may encounter:

> The Texas Dall is known for its striking all-white coat and bold, sweeping horns, making it a clean and classic mount.

> The Corsican Ram, one of the most popular exotics, features a reddish - brown body with a dark facial mask and think, curled horns - a rugged and reliable choice.

> Black Hawaiian rams bring an intense presence with its jet-black coat and contrasting light-colored horns, making it a true standout on any trophy wall.

> The Painted Desert Ram lives up to its name with a wild mix of colors - white, brown, red, and black - creating a one-of-a-kind, eye catching display.

All four species typically carry 1/2 to 3/4 curl horns and offer a unique challenge on their temperament and terrain!

FAQ’S AND POLICY

Yes, we know this part might seem a bit tedious, but it’s important! We kindly ask that everyone who registers for a trip visits the FAQs and Policy page on our website. If you sign up for a trip without reviewing this information, it’s your responsibility. There’s a wealth of valuable information there that could influence your decision. Please make sure to check out all the FAQs and Policies on our website before signing up for a trip with us. Thank you!

EXPECTATIONS + NO DRAMA

We want to ensure that every trip with Her Wilderness is enjoyable and memorable, but we acknowledge that sometimes things don’t go as planned. Mother Nature has a significant impact on our outdoor adventures, so we encourage you to approach each trip with a positive attitude and a "go with the flow" mindset. If this feels unreasonable to you, we kindly ask that you reconsider registering for our events. Weather can be unpredictable, affecting activities like hiking, hunting, and fishing, and our top priority is always your safety. For instance, if your trip is focused on duck hunting but our guide believes a goose hunt is more feasible, we will follow their expert recommendation. If this kind of flexibility is not something you're comfortable with, we encourage you to think twice about joining us. We expect all participants to maintain a positive attitude, regardless of the circumstances. Many of our trips have faced changes, cancellations, or rescheduling, yet the understanding and adaptability of the group have made all the difference that still allows for an incredible experience! We take pride in creating fun experiences, even in challenging situations. Please be aware that our trips may involve sharing accommodations with others, unpredictable weather that could impact planned activities, limited bathroom facilities for larger groups, and the possibility of not harvesting the specific animal you hoped for. These are real scenarios that can arise, and while we’ll do our best to minimize issues, they can happen. We strive to maintain a drama-free and stress-free environment. If any participant brings negativity or drama, they will be asked to leave without a refund and will not be allowed to return. Our goal is to ensure that everyone feels comfortable and valued, so we ask for your cooperation in keeping a cool, calm, and collected attitude throughout the trip. We truly appreciate each of our customers and are committed to providing the best possible experience for all participants. Thank you for understanding, and we look forward to creating unforgettable memories together!
