A safari in Tanzania offers some of the most iconic wildlife experiences in the world.



From the vast plains of the Serengeti to the stunning Ngorongoro Crater, there’s so much to explore. 


You’ll have the chance to witness animals chomping on trees , maybe even spot the Big Five (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhino), and of course relax on the beaches of Zanzibar after a few days exploring Tanzanias national parks.

Arrival to Kilimanjaro airport (JRO AIRPORT CODE)

Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport 


JRO- airport code ( use this code when looking up flights from your home airport)


FLY INTO JRO- FLY OUT OF ZANZIBAR ( avoid Precision airlines if at all possible- not reliable and cancels flights often) If you need help booking flights, please reach out to Nicole directly.

Kilimanjaro International Airport is (JRO- airport code) an international airport in northern Tanzania that serves the cities of Arusha and Moshi.


Karibu Tanzania! 


Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, one of our friendly Arusha Local Experience guides + Wonderlust Adventure team will warmly welcome you upon arrival.  Look for the Wonderlust Adventure sign!


You’ll then be taken to your hotel, where you can unwind in an authentic African atmosphere. Your personal guide is not only an expert on the breathtaking landscapes and wildlife but also knowledgeable about local culture. 


This trip is a private safari, giving you complete control over

your adventure. Together, you’ll decide the timing and duration of your game

drives, ensuring you make the most of every moment.

Explore Arusha town + Shanga visit (the local area ) + Relaxation

A Relaxing Day in Arusha + a day of exploration + Shanga Social enterprise visit


Today is all about relaxation in the welcoming atmosphere of Arusha. You can

spend the beginning of the day at your lodge, enjoying excellent service and hospitality.


Later, you will join a city tour in Arusha, where you will meet local artisans and get to meet some special friends who are talented artists creating special pieces that you can take home with you, along with a visit to Shanga, which is a local organization that employs those with disabilities, whereas in Africa it is typically difficult to be gainfully employed.  Glass work, bead work, weaving and more. 


"From its humble beginnings, Shanga has grown into a self-sustaining social enterprise training and employing 34 people with disabilities to produce creative products including weaving, glass blowing, beading, paper making and metal work, using recycled materials wherever possible.  You will have an opportunity to make a beaded bracelet with one of the staff whilst there.


 Your knowledgeable guide will show you the city’s vibrant spots, including local markets. To top it off, enjoy a snack/drink at a local establishment, immersing yourself in Tanzanian culture. 


This tour offers a fantastic opportunity to witness the everyday life of the locals, making today the perfect way to ease into your Tanzanian adventure!

Schedule example

Here is an example of what your safari day could look like, but

feel free to let your guide know if you'd like to start earlier or

later.

● 07:00 – Breakfast

● 08:00 – Pick-up for game drive

● 09:00 – 13:00 – Game drives

● 13:00 – Lunch in the park

● 14:00 – 16:00 – More game drives

● 5:30 – Return to the lodge

● 19:00 – Dinner

Your meal plan whilst on safari includes:

● Breakfast: A buffet with coffee, tea, juice, and water.

● Lunch: Packed with a sandwich, pasta salad, fruit, and a drink. (example)

● Dinner: Buffet or à la carte (drinks not included; prices vary).

Our safari vehicles are stocked with cold water.


Day 3

Tarangire National Park


Today, you’ll travel to the stunning Tarangire National Park, renowned for its

large elephant herds and iconic giant baobab trees. 


These majestic trees, some standing for hundreds of years, are a striking feature of the park. Your private guide will share fascinating insights about how these incredible creatures.


Prepare for an exciting day of wildlife encounters in this diverse national park!

Day 4-5

Serengeti National Park (Central West/East)

Today marks the highlight of your safari as you head to the renowned

Serengeti National Park, famous for the Great Migration. 


This breathtaking spectacle features millions of wildebeest , zebras, and other grazing animals on their epic journey in search of food. 

* Please note the migration is a specific time of year and this is not included on this safari*


The name "Serengeti" means "endless plains" in Maasai, and as you explore,

you’ll appreciate the vast landscapes. 


Beyond the migration, the Serengeti is home to over 4,000 lions, 225 cheetahs, 1,000 leopards, and 3,500 hyenas, among other fascinating species. 

Your guide will assist you in spotting these magnificent predators as you immerse yourself in this magical place.

Ngorongoro Crater (UNESCO site)

Today, you'll explore the Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa's Seven Wonders.


Formed over two million years ago, this breathtaking landscape is home to an

incredible diversity of wildlife. 


Descending 600 meters from the rim to the crater floor, you'll enjoy stunning views and encounter large prides of lions, herds of buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, and the rare black rhino—making it an ideal spot for wildlife enthusiasts.


With its rich ecosystems and dense animal populations, Ngorongoro is a

spectacular natural reserve and a must-see on your safari adventure.

Day 7

A Taste of Culture – Mto wa Mbu: Mountain Bike Ride & Maasai Village

After breakfast, head to the vibrant village of Mto wa Mbu, known for its lush

landscapes and banana farms. Enjoy a scenic mountain bike tour along flat

terrain, accessible to all fitness levels, where you’ll ride through local streets

and past family farms and plantations. The ride lasts 2-3 hours, adjustable to

your preference.


After cycling, visit a nearby Maasai village to learn about their

rich culture and traditions while coexisting with Africa's wildlife.


You'll have the opportunity to experience firsthand how they live,

ask questions, see their homes, and interact in a respectful,

non-invasive way. 


It’s a day of sharing, enjoying, and learning together—a

perfect blend of adventure, culture, and nature.

Day 8

Day 8: Canoeing on Lake Duluti & Traditional Cooking Class

Today, enjoy a canoe safari on Lake Duluti, a serene crater lake near Arusha.


Paddle across the tranquil waters, surrounded by lush forests and rich birdlife,

including eagles and kingfishers. This peaceful trip immerses you in Tanzania’s

natural beauty.


In the afternoon, dive into Tanzanian cuisine with a traditional cooking class led by local family chefs. Learn to prepare delicious dishes like ugali and mboga mboga using fresh ingredients. 


After cooking, savor the meal you’ve made!


This day offers a delightful mix of adventure, relaxation, and cultural immersion, creating lasting memories.

Day 9-12

Flight to Zanzibar

Today, you'll fly to Zanzibar, a tropical paradise known for its

spice plantations, rich history, and stunning beaches. 


Your flight will depart around lunchtime, getting you to Zanzibar in

the afternoon, just in time to enjoy a breathtaking sunset and unwind.


Over the next few days, you can relax on white sandy beaches, swim in

crystal-clear waters, and explore vibrant coral reefs. 


A local tour of Stone town UNESCO heritage site is a great place to start to learn all about what Zanzibar has to offer. Explore various art markets, meet local artists and experience local culture with a choice of added excursions if you so choose.


You have a choice of a spice farm tour, snorkeling, and a local forest to see the unique monkeys that inhabit the forest.

Day 12

Day 12 image

Departure to your home country

Day 12 you will say farewell to Zanzibar and fly back to your respective countries.

99-76 days before departure - 50% of the package price will be able to be refunded. 

75 days-day of departure - package price is non-refundable in its entirety.
