Experience the opportunity to learn the exciting tradition of Mexican women's synchronized formation riding called Escaramuza ( Es-cara-moosa)
We have developed a special relationship with an exceptional escaramuza teacher who has graciously opened up her facility to teach the tradition of escaramuza to an extended group of women.
This for many is a dream come true. Escaramuza embodies the strength, grace, and resilience of Mexican women throughout history. The sport represents the delicate balance between feminine elegance and raw power, as riders execute complex maneuvers while maintaining perfect posture and poise. It serves as a powerful reminder of women's contributions to Mexican culture and their ability to preserve traditions while breaking traditional gender barriers in equestrian sports.
We travel deep into the heart and beauty of Baja California Sur, Mexico to a local facility that will teach us in 5 days how to embody the Charra energy while learning to ride in a sequence formation.

We travel out to the escaramuza training grounds. Meet your instructor and your experienced escaramuza trained horse. Your horse will be helping you through this training and helping you become a Charra the name that is given to the excaramuza women.
We start with the foundations of the escaramuza patterns, the correct posture and hand positions. You will learn the call commands, how and when to circle your horse when to create a square and when to change directions. Training will be in regular saddles until you feel confident and would like to experience a side saddle.
This is a relaxed and super fun environment. Everyone is learning this new and exciting fun type of riding. We limit the group to 4 so that there is time for individual instruction. Lots of laughs and smiles while you learn to dance with your horse.
You will feel content with your progress on day 1 to build on the following day.
Breakfast and coffee will be packed for the excursion out to the Esacaramuza training grounds.
Lunch is included at a local restaurant on the way back into town.
The afternoon will be free to enjoy the add on activities, head to the beach or relax by the pool. Enjoy dinner with your Charra friends.
Day 2 builds on the skills of day one. Riding as a team brings a new dimension to the world of riding and I know you will be dreaming about escaramuza flower pattern formations in your sleep.
As we learn that timing is everything, circles and squares become our focus. Riding in a synchronized pattern forces us to not only think of ourselves but to think of the whole team taking care of your teammates. We learn more about the history of the Charras and the tradition of this riding. This whole experience is special and to be invited into the world of the Charras we have an opportunity to understanding the feeling and empowerment that the Charras represent.
Breakfast and Lunch are included.
As we build on our skills from the previous sessions we really start to feel the connection with our horses, and with our fellow Charras! Now it is time to dance with our horses weaving in and out of our team. This is where we see the importance of communication and the responsibility with our team. Safety is always a priority however we have time to laugh get to know each other and be apart of a tradition that is sacred to the women of Mexico.
