Whether you’re writing in the margins of napkins, dreaming of your first book, or simply aching to tell the truth—Ink + Ash is a one-day writing retreat designed to help you step into your voice with honesty, depth, and courage.

Held in the heart of Edinburgh, this workshop offers a warm, spacious, and trauma-informed environment for those who:

+ Write (or want to write) about life, faith, grief, or identity
+ Are exploring the space between private reflection and public storytelling
+ Struggle with self-censorship or fear of being misunderstood
+ Long for a writing space that honors nuance, complexity, and spiritual depth

What to Expect :

+ Trauma-informed writing sessions to explore your story safely

+ Creative writing prompts to help you move past mental blocks

+ Free-writing sessions, letter writing, and poetry-inspired exercises

+ Honest conversations about unpacking your story, voice, and the ethics of telling your story when it involves other people
+ An honest, no filtered question and answer session about publishing pathways, the Christian book industry, and Christian content creation
+ Gentle feedback and supportive space to share your work (if you’d like)

This is more than just craft. It’s about rooting yourself in the story you carry and learning to tell it in a way that feels safe and honest.

What’s Included :

+ Fresh coffee + tea throughout the day
+ Light snacks

+ A thoughtfully crafted workbook

+ Writing supplies
+ Time to write, share, and reflect in community

All in a cozy, artful space in Edinburgh.
