GoEuro Adventure's owner and Madrid Trip Leader Joe McCall's two greatest passions are indeed travel & sports (Lifelong ardent fan of Washington Redskins/Commanders). In fact, he first began organizing trips and leading groups to Europe as the varsity basketball coach at Good Counsel High School in the 1990's. Joe led his teams on trips to France, Italy, and Germany where he was playing tour guide by day and coaching at night. His 1998 team won the championship of the prestigious Sergio Rizzi Tournament just north of Milan, Italy. Speaking of championships, Joe fondly remembers attending the parade after Washington's first Super Bowl Championship.
Jeff Tumarkin, GoEuro's Director of Outreach and Joe's "wingman," also grew up in the D.C. area rooting for the hometown team. Jeff is especially skilled in tailgating and will bring his talents to Madrid.
"My husband and I have traveled with Joe on countless trips ... We are hooked! We were initially attacted by how much the trips offered for such an affordable price. But what has drawn us back many times now is how Joe goes the extra mile in crafting an experience on each trip that is so special and unique. Every time we return from a trip, we think there is no way that it could be topped but somehow the next one is even better!"

GoEuro Adventures
A non-refundable deposit is required at time of booking. The amount of the deposit may vary from trip to trip as the overall trip package prices vary as do the upfront costs of each trip. There is a 10 day grace period starting on your date of booking during which you may request and will be issued a full refund for your deposit . After the 10 day grace period deposits are non-refundable.. Each trip that GoEuro Adventures runs is treated from an accounting standpoint as its own separate entity. From the trip deposits it receives, GoEuro Adventures begins to make expenditures to secure the necessary arrangements for a particular trip. The timeline of making these expenditures varies from trip to trip.
If a person requests a refund far enough in advance of a trip (More than 180 days from the date of departure for their trip) it may be possible to issue a refund on a deposit of some amount, but this is solely at the discretion of GoEuro Adventures).
Within 180 days of the date of departure for a trip, with so many of the trip arrangements now made so far in advance requiring significant expenditures by GoEuro Adventures, that the policy of GoEuro Adventures is that deposits are non-refundable (Unless a traveler is still within their ten day grace period).. It is simply too difficult from an accounting standpoint to determine what percentage of a person’s deposit has been expended at which point in time.
Travel Insurance, which is recommended, should be purchased at time of deposit.
Guaranteed balance of payment is required sixty (60) days prior to departure.
If the balance is not paid by the stipulated date, the right is reserved to cancel the booking(s) without further notice and without refund of deposit.
Cancellations received prior to final payment will incur loss of non-refundable deposit. After the final balance is paid (Generally due 60 days prior to departure, but can vary by trip as up-front payments required to secure trip arrangements differ), refunds as a matter of policy are NOT issued. In some cases, your trip may be transferrable to other persons.
We encourage all passengers to take out adequate insurance coverage to protect themselves against cancellation due to illness prior to or during travel. In the event of a traveller becoming ill during a tour, all hospital and medical expenses are the traveller’s responsibility and they shall not be entitled to any refund, either total or partial, of passage money paid. Check with your travel insurance agent as to what conditions and charges apply if you cancel your flight and/or land reservations.

MORNING- After breakfast, our local guide will share with us the main points of interest within Madrid's city center including stops at the Prado Museum and Puerta del Sol.
AFTERNOON- You will have the afternoon free to enjoy lunch, go shopping, or visit any one of the number of museums that weren't on our morning highlights tour. Our hotel is located on Madrid's Gran Via which is populated with countless stores, cafes, and restaurants and is within easy walking distance to many museums and points of interest.
EVENING- A highlight of many of GoEuro's trips is the SECRET FOOD TOUR, a three hour leisurely stroll through one of Madrid's many neighborhoods with a plethora of stops for generous samples of authentic Spanish cuisine, various cocktails and beverages, and sweet treats. The SECRET FOOD TOURS often find the best places and hidden gems not yet discovered by most of the tourists.
SEGOVIA
Throughout its rich history, Spanish culture has been shaped by the Roman, Moors and other significant civilizations. We will visit the spectacular and well preserved Roman aqueduct at Segovia as well as the Alcazar of Segovia, the royal palace built on a stone peninsula between the rivers Eresma and Clamores
AVILA
Distinctively known by its medieval walls, Ávila is sometimes called the Town of Stones and Saints, and it claims that it is one of the towns with the highest number of Romanesque and Gothic churches per capita in Spain. Ávila was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985.
EVENING- After a long & busy day, we will enjoy dinner at our hotel this evening. With the game only two days away, we will test your knowledge of Commander/Redskin history with a fun trivia contest, all while we sample many Spanish wines.

Also known as ‘the street that never sleeps’, Calle Gran Vía is lined with theatres, movie theaters, restaurants, and shops. H&M, Zara and Lacoste are just a few of the world-class brands that have a boutique here. Larger department stores such as El Corte Inglés are also found on this upscale shopping street famed for the awe-inspiring architecture of some of its buildings.
EVENING- During dinner on this night before the game, we most likely will be joined by a special surprise guest known to all Commander's fans.

LATE MORNING/EARLY AFTERNOON- Pre-game TAILGATE PARTY with generous amounts of food & drink (Exact site is still being determined). Tailgating is a uniquely American tradition so site rules may not allow it, but the tailgate will be somewhere in close proximity to the stadium. GoEuro wants to win the tailgate, so it will be a good party!
MID-AFTERNOON- Washington Commanders versus Miami Dolphins Game, tickets provided in preferred seating. HAIL TO THE ...... SQUISH THE FISH!
POST-GAME DINNER
We will celebrate (Hopefully) afterward at dinner in one of Madrid's fine restaurants.
JUST SOUTH OF MADRID LIES THE MEDIEVAL CITY OF TOLEDO
Know as the "City of Three Cultures," Toledo offers a fascinating blend of Christian, Jewish, and Muslim influences that have shaped its streets, architecture, and spirit. From its soaring cathedral to its winding, cobblestone alleys, every step in Toledo is like a step back in time. Toledo is a city best explored on foot, thanks to its compact layout and rich medieval charm. Our local guide will lead a short walking tour after which you will have time on your own to explore and enjoy lunch in one of the many charming restaurants.
SPECIAL FAREWELL DINNER WITH AN AUTHENTIC SPANISH FLAIR
Hopefully we will be celebrating a Commander's victory, but either way we will have one final dinner together during which we will enjoy an authentic Flamenco show. Flamenco is a form of song, dance, and instrumental (mostly guitar) music commonly associated with the Andalusian Roma (Gypsies) of southern Spain.
In addition to the purchases you bring back packed in your luggage, you will be returning with many priceless memories and newly made friends .... AND, hopefully a big W.
