About your trip

For you who seek steep lines, remote summits and uncertain outcomes. This is your way in.

This trip is for intermediate skiers and splitboarders who want mellow terrain with wide sea views.

You will spend a week in high alpine terrain. Secluded slopes. Fresh snow. Fjords stretching in every direction. Peaks shaped by long winters. Light that softens the entire landscape. Isolation is the norm.

Each day you travel through quiet, snow covered ground that few people reach. Some days mean steady ascents to clean summits. Other days offer couloirs, ridgelines and sharper objectives if the conditions allow. The terrain shifts. Your choices adapt with it.

Our certified guides provide the safety framework. You bring your own pace and your own decisions. This is Arctic ski touring at its most functional. Raw. Remote. Entirely yours.

Highlights Include

  • Tour untouched, uncrowded terrain in one of Europes wildest regions.

  • Summit glaciated peaks and move through varied terrain, from mellow bowls to steeper couloirs. Each route selected day by day according to conditions and the group.

  • Spend time above the Arctic Circle, in places where skiing, weather and local culture sit close together.

  • Eat simple, hearty meals made with local ingredients, including traditional Arctic barbecue.

  • Recharge in a quiet fjordside cabin site with a sauna and wide views of the northern coast.

  • Move with certified guides who know the region well and balance safety with a clear read of the terrain.

Activity Levels

Our trips are immersive and practical, built to place you in real terrain and keep you moving through it at your own pace. Expect active days outdoors.

You will travel through Arctic fjords and across steep mountain ground, ascending on foot and descending on sea facing slopes. This is suitable for experienced skiers or splitboarders who want quiet terrain and distance from established routes.

  • Average day:
Around 1000 vertical metres (3,280 feet) of ascent and descent. Four to six hours on the mountain. Two guides adjust the plan according to conditions and the group.

  • Challenge day:
If snow, weather and group capability align, we aim for steeper and longer routes. It is never tied to a fixed schedule but always considered.

Accommodations

Our accommodation is locally owned and closely tied to the landscape and community. Expect comfort without excess and hosts who know the area well. Nature sits just outside the door.

The base for the entire trip is in Nuvsvåg where you will get a clear sense of local Arctic life. You will stay in simple but comfortable cabins, each equipped with its own bathrooms and bedrooms with single beds.

Climate

This trip takes you through the remote terrain around Nuvsvåg. Routes are adjusted each day by certified guides. Weather shapes the plan, so flexibility is part of the structure. The aim is simple. Safe travel. Fresh snow. A clear Arctic ski experience.

  • Weather
February is the coldest period of the season. Daytime temperatures sit around minus five degrees. Nights drop towards minus ten. Clear skies can push lows below minus fifteen. Wind chill increases exposure, especially on open slopes.

  • Snow and conditions
February marks the core of winter. Reliable snowfall and increasing daylight create solid touring conditions. Snow averages close to half a metre and often reaches from the peaks down to the sea.

Our Guides

Every Klättermusen Experience is led by certified guides with strong local knowledge and technical competence. Their approach is flexible and safety focused. They read the weather, the terrain and the group, and adjust the plan accordingly. This ensures you move through remote and rugged landscapes with clarity and confidence.
