We offer a warm welcome to all writers looking for some space at our rural retreat in the Basque Country of Navarra. The farmhouse is located just outside Bera de Bidasoa, a charming village on the border between Navarra and Gipuzkoa, and just steps from the French Border.
Whether you are new to writing or an established author, working on fiction or non-fiction, we are here to support you and provide encouragement. Each morning, we gather in the common room to explore craft topics such as voice, structure, and dialogue and to respond to some prompts.
The rest of the day is free to enjoy the private spaces offered by the farmhouse and to take advantage of the charming nearby trails. In the evening we gather for informal dinners and to share our writing experiences and the creative processes we have explored during the day.
We've got lots of great reviews here at Trip Advisor and you can also read more reviews and more about the trip on Diana's web site.
If you are traveling from outside the EU we strongly recommend you arrive to Spain a day or two before the retreat to avoid flight delays and to adjust to the time change. When booking tickets please leave plenty of time to arrive for the 5 p.m. shuttle from San Sebastian to the retreat house.
There is a bus to Bera at 7:30 p.m.in the evening, and if you miss that we can help arrange a taxi (at extra cost). Our goal is for everyone to be present for our welcome dinner, the first night, Aug. 14.

Throughout the week we'll take short hikes, visit a swimming hole (weather permitting) and short jaunts into town, for those who feel like exploring.
