Canyoning Tour

Board the van for the 30 minute 4x4 drive that will bring you to the ranch house in the mountains.  We will give you a safety talk, put your gear on, and then embark on a short trek to the top of the first waterfall where we start the descent.

There are 4 rappels, 3 waterfalls and 1 canyon wall, ranging in height from 50 meters (130ft) to 20  meters (45ft); all are guaranteed to get your blood moving!  We have constructed trails that lead you from waterfall to waterfall through the canyon; it’s like being in a national park.

Then a short trek out of the canyon will lead you back to the vehicles and back to our base offices just outside La Fortuna for a delicious “Tipico” lunch in view of the famous Volcano Arenal. Lunch will be  served after the adventure at the Operations Center. After this thrilling adventure return to the hotel.

Includes: Transportation, bilingual guide, equipment and Costa Rican lunch.

Arenal Volcano Hike & Ecotermales with Dinner

We begin the tour by heading to the El Silencio Private Reserve, to get as close to the base of the Arenal volcano as possible by vehicle. Next, we will walk approximately 1 kilometer along a volcanic stone path with a moderate degree of difficulty, until we reach the viewpoint, the closest point to  volcano permitted to access.

At the viewpoint, our guide will provide relevant information on the formation of the Arenal Volcano,  it's periods of activity, as well as unpublished details of its first eruption in 1968. You can also enjoy the excellent views of the Green Lagoon and Lake Arenal. On the guide’s indication, we will begin our descent along the same trail.

For a change of scenery, we will then enter the regenerating forest and onto the primary rainforest  located along the outskirts of the Arenal Volcano.

With a little luck, this 1.5 km (1 mi) trail will provide us with the opportunity to see a wide variety of  plants and animals that inhabit the rainforest, like toucans, turkeys, orioles, peccaries, snakes, and  monkeys. The tour concludes with a relaxing stop at the Ecotermales hot springs and enjoy a delicious  dinner.

Includes: transportation, bilingual, entrance fees, snacks, beverages and dinner.

Day 4 - Arenal Volcano

Hanging Bridges & Waterfall Tour

Enjoy this spectacular hike through the rainforest where you could appreciate the forest from a unique perspective. The loop trail is about 1.8 miles (3 km) long and consists of 15 bridges, 6 of them suspended in the air, allowing for breath-taking views from treetop canopy where many hard to spot animal species live. It is not uncommon to find monkeys, birds, snakes, lizards and much more along the way.

As soon as we finish the hike, we will drive to La Fortuna Waterfall, managed by ADIFORT, a nonprofit community development organization. Association of community development created by the municipal of La Fortuna, whose main objective is to ensure the well-being of the community through education

projects, roads, cemetery management, conservation of natural resources and the beautification of the community.

The walk to the waterfall has a stairway of about 500 steps. Once we reach the bottom, you will find a beautiful view and a spot where you can swim. After all this adventure we will visit a local restaurant where you will enjoy a delicious traditional lunch.

Includes: transportation, bilingual guide, entrance fees, beverages, snack or fruits and lunch.
