This 7-day trek covers a major section of the full 9-day Ak-Suu Transverse, one of Kyrgyzstan’s most breathtaking long-distance routes. Starting from Boz-Uchuk Lakes and finishing at Jeti-Ögüz, the trail takes you across alpine passes, turquoise lakes, and glaciated valleys. Enjoy authentic yurt and tent stays, soak in Altyn Arashan’s wild hot springs, and marvel at the turquoise beauty of Ala-Kul Lake before ending beneath the red cliffs of Jeti-Ögüz.

Karakol → Boz-Uchuk Lakes

Transfer from Karakol to Turgen Gorge (~1 h). Trek to Boz-Uchuk Ashuu Pass (3,460 m) and visit Boz-Uchuk Lakes for sunset.

Trek 13 km via scenic ridges overlooking Ak-Suu glacier wall.

Almaluu → Altyn Arashan

Cross Ortok Pass (3,650 m) and descend into Altyn Arashan Valley. Relax in natural hot springs.

Altyn Arashan → Ala-Kul Lake

Ascend Ala-Kul North Pass (3,906 m) and descend to camp beside Ala-Kul Lake (3,550 m).
Trekking distance: 15 km | Time: 7–8 h

Ala-Kul → Karakol Gorge

In the morning, you may explore the nearby glacier before we begin our descent. From camp, we head west along a scenic trail. The 11 km route takes about 4 hours, longer if you prefer an easier pace downhill.

Reaching the valley, we take a well-deserved lunch break after the steep descent. Then we cross the bridge and continue about 200 meters up the valley to our campsite for the night.

Karakol Gorge → Teleti Camp

Ascend through Teleti Valley and cross Teleti Pass (3,792 m). Descend to Kok-Jaik pasture for camp.

Day 7

Teleti Camp → Jeti-Ögüz (Kok-Jaik)

Descend through lush meadows to Jeti-Ögüz Valley,enjoy a panoramic view of the Broken Heart Rock and have lunch in the area. .Optional transfer to Karakol.
