Join us on our second week of learning kora in a beautiful rural environment, sharing good food, music and laughter. Suitable for all abilities: the greater the mix the better.  Price of 600€ includes kora tuition, loan of a kora if needed, shared accommodation, breakfasts and lunches.

Arrivals Sunday 14th Sept, lessons start 10am Monday.  Last lessons Saturday morning. Departures Sunday 21st.

After a group warm up session in the morning, students can find a quiet corner to practice and are visited on regular intervals from one of our expert teachers. We have three experienced teachers and can cater for absolute beginners, all the way up to advanced players.  Some people opt to work in pairs or a small group, others work alone.

Individual sessions run up until lunch at 1.30pm, after which is free time. You can use this as time for some extra practice or go and explore the beautiful natural surroundings and local towns.

Mas de Jammes is an ideal spot for walking, hiking and just a short drive to nearby cafés and restaurants, in the lovely bastide town of Villeneuve d’Aveyron.  The weather in September is perfect, the heat of summer is fading, but dry and warm and the pool is perfect.

All food is home-cooked with plenty of vegetarian options.   

Breakfast
Fresh baguettes, jams, muesli, yogurt, juices.

Homemade lunch spread
Soups, salads, dips, bread, cheese + cured meats etc.  All dishes except the charcuterie platter are vegetarian.   

Dinner – optional and is 12€ per head per night.  We include the first night as it is a great social occasion and helps people get to know us and each other.
Main course, cheese, dessert + wine.

 There are two rooms on the top floor used as 3-bed shared dormitories. There are 4 campervan spaces available and 2 camping spots giving a reduction of 60€Also available, with a surcharge, are:

• One twin room (two single beds)
• Two double rooms
• One small private Gîte
• One Tiny House caravan
• Camping and Campervans in the Lavender field

All bedding and towels are provided in bedrooms. 

Non-kora playing guests are very welcome if sharing a double room, gite, tiny house, camper or tent with a kora student. 

We will meet you at Villefranche de Rouergue station.  Most people get to Toulouse by air or train and then enjoy the most glorious train journey up through the Gorges d’Aveyron.

Flights: 

• Toulouse from many destinations with Easyjet, British Airways, Flybe and many more. The most popular and practical route if flying.
• Brive from Stansted with Ryanair. Transfer from there will be long and expensive unless shared or hiring a car.
• Rodez  from Dublin with Ryanair or from Paris with Eastern Airways.  Again transfer from there will expensive unless shared or hiring a car.

Trains:

Stations are Villefranche de Rouergue, Salles-Courbaties, and Figeac.  We collect from Villefranche de Rouergue.  The other stations are possible collection points but harder to co-ordinate so ideally please get to Villefranche de Rouergue.

Buses:

Various services such as  Ouibus, Flixbus, Eurolines, etc come to Montauban (but a stop in the middle of nowhere!) or Toulouse.
