Experience the magic of seeing and photographing Common Loons in their natural environment. This six hour is divided into morning and afternoon sessions to take advantage of the best light.

Prior to the trip we will meet discuss the schedule for the trip and go over details. When you sign up I will send you an information sheet covering what to bring for your trip and what to expect.

On the water we will travel either by canoe or kayak (your choice). Both have their advantages.

The kayaks get you closer to the surface of the water and closer to eye level with the birds. However they require constant repositioning, particularly in windy conditions. The kayaks are 12-feet long with large cockpits making them easier to get in and out of. For people with flexibility issues they can be challenging to enter.

The canoe, provided we do not exceed the suggested weight limit, allows you to focus on photographing the birds as I will do the paddling.

I provide life vests, dry bags for camera equipment if you do not have your own and pads/seats to sit on in the canoe.
