Imagine waking up in a beautifully restored Italian villa on a 16th-century estate, surrounded by ancient olive trees and overlooking the shimmering waters of Lake Trasimeno. Your day begins with an all-levels yoga class in a sunlit studio or on the terrace, breathing in crisp, countryside air and soaking in panoramic views of rolling hills. After class, you’ll explore nearby villages, taste wine from historic cellars, forage for truffles in the forest, or simply enjoy a book near the pool. And in the evening? A candlelit, three-course Italian dinner, prepared by a local chef with ingredients sourced just steps away.

Now, imagine doing this every day—for a full week—with a group of like-hearted friends, old and new. This is your retreat. A chance to rest, reconnect, and savor the sweet pace of Italian life.

The Location

Our home for the week is La Dogana, a family-run historical estate nestled on the border of Tuscany and Umbria. Set among 4,000 olive trees and with uninterrupted views of Lake Trasimeno, the estate includes three buildings: the Lake House, the Coach House, and the Woodcutter’s House. Each is filled with rustic charm and modern comfort. The property has been in Lucia’s family since 1938, when her great-grandmother—an Italian trailblazer and the first woman to earn a BA in her region—purchased the estate using a government stipend for her groundbreaking scientific discovery. We love supporting women-owned, history-rich spaces like this one.

Suites are divided into cozy apartments with kitchenettes, sitting areas, and two bedrooms each. You’re welcome to share with friends or request your own space—no need to find a roommate unless you want to.

Yoga

Daily morning vinyasa yoga before breakfast prepares us for the day of exploration ahead. Our studio overlooks the olive groves and vineyards with a beautiful view of the lake in the distance. Optional restorative yoga is offered in the afternoons depending on when we return from the city tours, and depending on group interest.  Mats and props are provided, and classes are designed for everyBODY—beginners to seasoned yogis.

Dining

A generous breakfast buffet and a nightly three-course dinner with the local wine are included. Meals are made by an on-site local chef using seasonal, farm-fresh ingredients. On excursion days, lunch is on your own in one of the charming towns we visit. Our airport shuttle will stop at a local market on the first day, and each apartment has a kitchenette if you'd like to stock up on snacks or prep your own light lunches.
