As winter loosens its grip and the world softens toward spring, The Thaw invites you into a weekend of melting cortisol and returning to flow. This retreat is designed to help you release the heaviness of colder months and reconnect with your inner cycles — present, rooted, and gently renewed.
Early spring is a quiet awakening. As the ground warms and water begins to move again, we feel that same shift within ourselves. The nervous system opens, and the body starts to respond. Over the weekend, we will explore what it feels like to move from holding into ease through practices that support your hormones, your emotional landscape, and the natural softening that comes with early spring.
You’ll be nourished with seasonal meals, citrus, herbs, roots, and mineral-rich vegetables, all gluten- and dairy-free, crafted to steady cortisol and calm the nervous system.
Daily somatic, fascia, and mobility movement, and Yin will help melt winter tension from the inside out. Breathwork will guide heat and flow back into the body, supporting and easing the freeze patterns.
Between sessions, spacious pockets of quiet invite you to wander the land, rest, journal, or simply breathe. The stillness of upstate New York in early spring becomes its own form of nourishment.
The Thaw is an invitation to return to yourself with softness
to feel movement where there was stagnation,
and let your inner waters flow again.
All levels are welcome.

Orē comes from the ancient Greek word for mountain.
In early mythology, the Ourea were mountain spirits—keepers of grounding, stillness, resilience, and presence.
Our retreats are designed to feel the same: rooted, steady, deeply human.
An Orē retreat is gentle by design.
A place where the pace slows, the breath deepens, and your system has space to settle.
You leave with simple, livable rituals you can fold into your daily life. A sense of calm that feels earned. And an understanding of your body that feels clearer and kinder.
Your Hosts
Vera began her yoga journey in 2010 after moving to New York, where years of dedicated practice revealed the physical, emotional, and spiritual depth of the tradition. She immersed herself in retreats at Sivananda Ashram (Bahamas, 2014) and Ananda Ashram (New York, 2015), experiences that inspired her to pursue formal study.
In 2018, she completed her 200-hour training at Pure Yoga NYC with Kay Kay Clivio, Adam Vitolo, and Yogi Charu, followed by advanced study in pranayama, restorative yoga, and Bhakti practices. She later completed her 300-hour training at Yoga Maya and recently finished a 200-hour Katonah Yoga training, expanding her understanding of body mechanics, metaphor, and breathwork.
Drawing from multiple lineages, Vera’s teaching blends strength, steady breath, and graceful movement with a deep respect for yoga’s sacred roots. Her work centers on calming the mind and helping students reconnect to their inner clarity.
Taylor Michelle is a wellness editor, retreat chef, and creative whose work blends nourishment, design, and women’s health. She has partnered with global icons like Madonna, built platforms such as Tiny Bodega and Well Theorem, and created sensory experiences that make wellbeing feel warm, intuitive, and deeply human.
At Orē, she weaves together storytelling, seasonal nourishment, and simple ritual to help women soften back into themselves and feel more present in their own terrain.
