The Dune Desert Marathon takes place in one of Morocco’s most beautiful locations, the Merzouga Dune.

Run a marathon, half marathon, or 10k along an incredible route. The 5-day experience includes a dromedary trek, a visit to desert nomads, an oasis barbecue, a trophy dinner party, buggy activities, accommodation, transfers, all meals, and a personalized jacket to make it an unforgettable experience

The race is practically flat but we will enter two sectors with dunes to enjoy the experience. 

We will be staying in 4-star hotels but we will live the experience of doing a camel route to spend a night in luxury haimas in the dunes with all the comforts.

To ensure you have the best possible experience, we’ve put together all the technical information you need to know before you take part in the Dune Race.

- 125 positive elevation

- 125 negative elevation

- 90% dirt track

- 10% sand dune track

The circuit passes through the Hammada in 85% and 15% through the dune. The Hammada is a flat surface and easy to run. In the dune the pace is slower but the accumulated unevenness is not high, although there are short up-down slopes. 

The circuit is against-clockwise direction. There will be refreshment stations at Km 10, 15, 20, 25,30, 35, finish line. We have an opening, closing and sanitary vehicle. The closing vehicle is available if any participant wants to leave the race. Check out the photo gallery below to see the tracK!

The organization has looked for the best dates to have the mildest temperatures and avoid excessive heat-cold. A temperature is foreseen that could vary from 11ºC at the start to 24ºC at the finish line. The registration includes the corporate jersey!

To face the challenge in the best conditions we recommend you to wear trail running shoes, a cap, sunglasses and a sand shoe cover (only for the dune section). Check out the photo gallery below to see the equipment!

On the 1st day of the event we will take care of the transfers from Errachidia airport to the 4-star hotel where the participants will stay in Erfoud. Dinner will be included for the sportsmen and sportswomen.

We will enjoy breakfast and then go to check the marathon course. At the end of the day, we will return to the Oasis for lunch. We will have a stretching session and then go for a camel ride. We will enjoy dinner and spend the night in a haima camp in the Sahara.

We will start with breakfast and then we'll run the marathon. Once finished, we will transfer you to the starting point, have lunch in a beautifu Hotel in the dunes where we will experience an exciting trophy ceremony and dinner together.

On Monday, we will have breakfast and enjoy a 4x4 activity. Lunch and return to the hotel. We will finish the day with a delicious dinner.

On the last day we will have breakfast and we will take you to Errachidia Airport.
We will say goodbye after an unforgettable adventure.
