About your trip

Portugal, Morocco & Spain with Mallorca Finale

May 21 – June 6, 2027

Travel independently — with expert guidance, trusted support, and a built-in community of families traveling alongside you.

The Cultured Compass Collective is designed for families who want the freedom of their own custom vacation, enhanced by curated experiences, insider support, and meaningful connection with like-minded families.

Rather than a traditional group tour, each family books their own flights and accommodations. Cultured Compass provides the structure, private itinerary, destination expertise, and optional services that make international family travel smoother, more enriching, and far less stressful.

This journey moves through the historic riverfront cities of Portugal, the vibrant cultural heart of Marrakech, the plazas and traditions of southern Spain, and concludes with restorative beach time in Mallorca.

Throughout the journey, families may participate in curated activities, Kids Camp sessions, and shared gatherings — or explore independently using the Cultured Compass itinerary and recommendations.

This is your vacation, supported — not scheduled.

Cultured Compass Kids Camp

Parent-Supported Kids Camp Sessions

Cultured Compass Kids Camp sessions are designed to provide parents with the opportunity to enjoy select experiences independently, while children participate in a safe, relaxed, and engaging group environment alongside other Collective families.

These sessions are not formal childcare services, but rather small-group, parent-supported Kids Camp experiences personally hosted by Melody Anderson, founder of Cultured Compass, alongside Jacob Anderson.

As parents ourselves, we understand both the deep desire to explore the world and the realities of traveling with young children. These sessions are offered intentionally and in limited capacity to make meaningful travel more attainable — allowing parents to enjoy a dinner, cultural experience, or restorative break while their children remain nearby and supported.

Melody brings over 15 years of experience working with children as a nanny and caregiver, in addition to her experience as a mother. Both Melody and Jacob are CPR certified and are happy to provide background checks for additional peace of mind.

We are personally dedicating part of our own family’s vacation time to host these sessions in order to support other parents in the Collective and make this experience possible. Our long-term vision is to expand Cultured Compass Kids Camp with additional trusted caregivers, allowing families even greater flexibility while maintaining the integrity and safety of the program.

Supervision & Environment

Each Kids Camp session is hosted by:

• Melody Anderson, Cultured Compass founder, parent, and experienced caregiver
• Jacob Anderson, Cultured Compass co-host, parent, CPR certified

Sessions are limited to approximately 6–8 children total, including our own child, to maintain a calm, attentive environment.

Whenever possible, sessions take place within Collective accommodations or a private designated space within the same property, allowing parents to remain nearby and accessible.

We will prepare the space thoughtfully to create a child-friendly environment, including basic childproofing measures where appropriate, and providing engaging activities, games, and movies to ensure children feel comfortable and supported.

Baby monitors with live video streaming will be used for younger children when appropriate, allowing parents to remain connected and reachable at all times.

Parents must remain within the property or nearby area and available by phone during the session.

✨ Travel Without Compromise

The Cultured Compass Collective is designed to enhance your independent family vacation with trusted childcare, curated cultural experiences, and a built-in community of like-minded families traveling alongside you.

Rather than a traditional group tour, this is a flexible, semi-structured journey. Each family books their own flights and accommodations, giving you full freedom to travel on your terms while benefiting from expert guidance, insider recommendations, and shared experiences in each destination.

Throughout the journey, your family will have access to opt in for our curated experiences for additional costs, like cultural walking tours, food experiences, and community gatherings, along with exclusive Cultured Compass Kids Camp evenings. During these supervised childcare experiences, children enjoy enriching play and connection, while parents have the opportunity to explore, rest, or enjoy meaningful time on their own.

This model allows you to maintain the independence and flexibility of your own vacation while gaining the support, community, and curated access that make travel smoother, deeper, and more memorable.

Whether you join for a single destination or the full journey, Cultured Compass provides the structure, guidance, and trusted support to help your family experience the world with confidence and ease.

Because family travel should expand your world — not limit it.

✨ Making the Dream Attainable

At Cultured Compass, we believe extraordinary travel experiences shouldn’t be out of reach for busy parents — especially those seeking meaningful cultural immersion, connection, and the ability to truly enjoy the journey. This experience allows you to share unforgettable moments with your children while also having the space to explore, recharge, and savor time on your own, knowing your family is supported every step of the way.

Flexible payment options are available. As a professional travel advisor, Melody Anderson can assist with bundling your trip components and accessing Flex Pay programs, allowing you to spread eligible travel costs into manageable monthly payments. Reach out if you’d like to explore this option and design a payment plan that works for your family. Subject to approval.

✨ Meet Your Hosts

I’m Melody, founder of Cultured Compass, and I’ll be traveling alongside you with my husband, Jake, and our daughter, Kiah. This isn’t just a hosted trip, it’s our family vacation too. We’re intentionally creating the kind of experience we’d want for ourselves: meaningful, seamless, and thoughtfully supported for both parents and kids.

For this journey, Jake and I will personally host Kids Club sessions together. Rather than bringing in outside childcare, we’ve designed this to feel intimate and relational. We will host up to 6–8 children total (including our own), depending on ages, so space is intentionally limited to ensure quality care and attention.

I know firsthand how nerve-racking it can feel to leave your child, especially in another country. That’s why everything we do is built on transparency, safety, and trust. Parents receive photo updates throughout sessions, and we maintain clear communication at all times so you always feel connected.

I bring over 15 years of childcare experience, including four years as a full-time nanny. I’ve worked with children of all ages, from infants to teens, and I’m CPR and First Aid certified. Safety is always front and center — from tracking bracelets for kids (and parents) to childproofing materials, first-aid kits, and even a Dechoker in our supply bag. I’m admittedly “that mom” who plans for everything.

Jake brings a calm, steady presence and years of operational and safety experience through his aviation background. Together, we create a structured, attentive, and playful environment where kids feel secure and excited.

Kids Club will feel like the kind of summer camp we loved growing up: part creative workshop, part cultural exploration, part joyful playdate. Think art inspired by local culture, park games, scavenger hunts, and collaborative projects that help kids connect with each other and the destination.

Our goal is simple: while you enjoy intentional adult time, your children are not just “being watched,” they’re having an experience of their own.

The world is magical. And our hope is that your family leaves this journey with unforgettable memories, deeper connection, and maybe even friendships that last far beyond this trip.

With time to explore Ribeira, cross the Dom Luís I Bridge into Vila Nova de Gaia, or enjoy a beach escape to Foz do Douro, these days are intentionally spacious, allowing families to fully savor Portugal’s warmth before continuing on to Morocco.

Marrakech is where the journey deepens. It’s vibrant, layered, and beautifully alive. A place where history, artistry, and everyday life unfold in the same narrow streets. We’ll stay in traditional riads tucked inside the Medina, wander through colorful souks, visit gardens and palaces, and experience Moroccan culture in hands-on, meaningful ways. This portion of the trip is thoughtfully paced to balance immersion with breathing room, allowing families to feel both supported and inspired as they step into a new cultural rhythm together. Marrakech isn’t just a destination; it’s an experience that invites curiosity, connection, and a little bit of wonder.
