For those seeking even more, extend your journey with the optional Cartagena add-on—exploring the walled Old City, enjoying a horse-drawn carriage ride through its cobblestone streets, and escaping by private boat to the pristine Rosario Islands.

Arrival in Bogotá

 Your journey begins in the vibrant capital city of Bogotá. Upon arrival, you'll be greeted at the airport and transferred to your hotel. That evening, join fellow participants for a warm welcome dinner where you’ll meet your Global Teacher guide, learn more about the journey ahead, and start building connections that will last a lifetime.

Discovering the Heart of Bogotá

Spend the day exploring the cultural and historical richness of Bogotá. Ascend the iconic Monserrate for breathtaking panoramic views of the city, and stroll through the colonial-era streets of La Candelaria. Visit the famous Gold Museum and the bustling Plaza de Bolívar as you immerse yourself in the capital’s dynamic energy and artistic spirit.

Into the Coffee-Growing Highlands

After breakfast, we board a short domestic flight into Colombia’s lush coffee region. Upon arrival, you'll be transported to a beautifully preserved finca (traditional country estate) nestled in the mountains. Relax, unpack, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere as you prepare for the rural experiences ahead. The evening offers a quiet introduction to the region’s charm over a shared meal with your group.

From Bean to Brew: Coffee Culture Deep Dive

Today, we delve into Colombia’s world-famous coffee industry. Enjoy an immersive tour of a working coffee plantation where you’ll trace the journey from coffee cherry to cup. Learn about sustainable farming practices, participate in a hands-on harvesting experience, and sample some of the freshest, most flavorful brews Colombia has to offer. It’s more than just a tasting—this is coffee education at its best.

School Immersion and Cultural Exchange

Over the day you'll participate in visits to local schools in the region. Engage with Colombian teachers, observe classrooms, and exchange ideas around pedagogy, school management, and student engagement. These are powerful opportunities to foster professional dialogue, cultural understanding, and potentially long-term global connections. During visits, you'll enjoy group reflections and cultural insights.

Rejuvenation at Santa Rosa Hot Springs

 In the morning, we’ll head to Las Termales de Santa Rosa to soak, relax, and recharge in the natural hot springs surrounded by lush jungle. Later, we’ll enjoy the sunset with stunning views before heading to the city of Pereira to check in for the night.

The Magic of Salento and the Cocora Valley

Venture to the colorful town of Salento, a charming jewel in the Andes. Wander its vibrant streets, browse local artisan markets, and savor regional specialties. In the morning, saddle up for a horseback ride through the breathtaking Cocora Valley, home to Colombia’s towering wax palms—the tallest palm trees in the world. The lush landscapes and peaceful rhythm of the valley will leave you in awe.

Medellín & Comuna 13

 This morning, we’ll catch a flight from Pereira to the dynamic city of Medellín. After checking in and getting settled, we’ll spend the afternoon exploring the colorful streets of Comuna 13—once one of the city’s most troubled areas, now a powerful symbol of transformation through art and community. We’ll discover vibrant street art, hear inspiring local stories, and enjoy delicious street food along the way. It’s a unique and immersive way to experience the heart and soul of Medellín.

Medellín to Guatapé: Rock, Art & River Cruise

 Today we’ll venture beyond Medellín on a full-day excursion to the charming town of Guatapé and the towering El Peñol rock. After a traditional breakfast, we’ll climb the 740 steps of El Peñol (optional) for panoramic views, cruise the picturesque reservoir by boat, and explore Guatapé’s vibrant streets filled with colorful murals. We'll enjoy a local lunch before returning to the city in the afternoon.

Departure Day or Cartagena Add-on

 Today is the official departure day of the tour. You will be provided with a transfer at your preferred time to Medellín International Airport for your onward flight. Alternatively, you can join our 2-night add-on package in Cartagena. We’ll fly to Cartagena, check in to accommodation in the historic Old City, and enjoy an afternoon city tour, including a charming horse and cart ride through the cobblestone streets.

Private Rosario Islands Escape

 Enjoy a private boat trip from Cartagena to the stunning Rosario Islands, where you’ll visit pristine beaches and snorkel among vibrant coral reefs. Relax on white sands, swim in crystal-clear waters, and savor a delicious lunch either on board or at a beachside restaurant. This personalized excursion offers the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation before returning to Cartagena in the late afternoon.
