Join us at Camp Singers for our 3-day, 2-night Screen Printing Intensive led by instructor Natalie Gaimari and the Camp Singers staff.
Campers will:
- Learn the fundamentals of the screenprinting process
- create print-ready artwork, coating and exposing screens
- Learn monotype and monoprint techniques
- Build a reliable set-up for screenprinting multiples.
Projects will include a monotype greeting card set, a tea towel with campers' individual designs and a collaborative print exchange with fellow classmates. All necessary materials are provided but campers are also welcome to bring their own paper or 100% cotton tees, 100% cotton totes or natural fiber textiles for printing.
The intensive is ideal for beginners or those refining their skills.
Campers will enjoy meals together, recreational options like hiking, boating, hot tub, fishing, campfires, archery, stargazing, birding, arts & crafts, and swimming at our pool club.
Prices listed are per person and include a $70 materials fee.
Camp Singers sits on 88 acres in the Catskills, with mountain views, farm pastures, and wooded trails. There is a swimming pond, a wildlife observation pond, and a creek. Three lovely donkeys (Starburst, Snickers and Blossom) also live on camp!
Campers have the option to stay in our 1870's farmhouse or tent camp on site. The house, known as The Lodge, underwent an 18 month restoration to bring it back to all its original glory (and beyond). The Lodge has 6 private guest rooms and 4 shared bathrooms. Common spaces include: large dining area overlooking the woods, fireside kitchen seating, extensive chef's kitchen, game/craft table and gathering room, studio space and recreational activities.
Natalie Gaimari has been screenprinting professionally in specialty New York print studios for the past decade. She has a BFA from School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University. After a decade in commercial production, she is now focused on educating screenprinters of all ages and experience levels. She teaches at Manhattan Graphics Center, Bushwick Print Lab, Tiny Arts Supply in Ridgewood and mentors a screenprinting program at the Community Access Art Collective in the Lower East Side.
