We saved the last day for Pucón's star attraction: the ascent of the imposing Villarrica Volcano, which stands 2,847 meters above sea level. Locally, it is known as Rukapillan, which means "house of spirits" in Mapuzungun, the language of the Mapuche people. On this tour, we will learn about the Mapuche culture and the volcano's history. From the heights, we will see how glaciers and volcanoes influenced the creation of the beautiful landscape of volcanoes, lakes, and forests.
