Your experience begins in Nairobi, where the city slowly gives way to the Great Rift Valley as you travel by road toward Lake Nakuru National Park. The drive itself becomes part of the journey, offering changing scenery and a deeper sense of connection to the land.

Lake Nakuru is known for its striking landscapes and rich biodiversity. Set among acacia forests and rolling hills, the lake attracts flamingos, supports one of Kenya’s most important rhino populations, and offers excellent opportunities to see a wide variety of birdlife and plains game in a more intimate setting.

From Nakuru, the journey continues by road to the Maasai Mara, where open savannah stretch endlessly toward the horizon. The Mara is defined by its abundance of wildlife and dramatic natural rhythms. Your journey begins with a drive from Nairobi into the heart of the Great Rift Valley, passing through dramatic escarpments and rolling hills.

Upon arrival at Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge, you’ll enjoy a warm welcome and a hearty lunch overlooking the picturesque Lake Nakuru.

In the afternoon, set out on your first game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park, home to white and black rhinos, buffaloes, Rothschild giraffes, and the elusive leopard. The park is also a bird lover’s paradise, with flocks of flamingos gracing the lake’s shores.

As the sun dips below the horizon, return to the lodge for dinner and a restful evening.

After breakfast, depart by road to the legendary Maasai Mara National Reserve, Kenya’s crown jewel of wildlife conservation.

Arrive at Sarova Mara Game Camp in time for lunch and settle into your luxury tent, blending the spirit of adventure with modern comforts.

In the afternoon, enjoy your first Mara game drive. The reserve offers some of the best wildlife viewing in the world, where prides of lions lounge under acacia trees, elephants graze peacefully, and cheetahs scan the horizon.

These two days are dedicated entirely to exploring the Mara’s breathtaking landscapes and diverse wildlife. Morning and afternoon game drives maximize your chances of spotting the Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino—alongside giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and countless antelope species.

During the Great Migration season (July–October), witness the dramatic river crossings as wildebeest and zebras surge across crocodile-filled waters, one of nature’s most unforgettable spectacles.
