About your trip

Sept. 26-30, 2026

Diving the remote wilderness of Vancouver Island's Barkley Sound

Join us for an unforgettable dive trip to Barkley Sound. Rated as the one of the best cold water diving destinations worldwide!

Scuba diving on the west coast of Vancouver Island is a spectacular and unique experience!

Come enjoy great diving and encounter wildlife above and below the surface. Wolf eels, Sea Lions, and Giant Pacific Octopus underwater, and Eagles, Bears and Whales above!

We will be staying at Rendezvous Dive Adventures, a full accommodation lodge in the middle of nature. Enjoy the hot tub after a day of diving, take out a kayak, or just relax.

The lodge

The lodge is very remote and located in Rainy Bay. It has 5 double occupancy bedrooms and 2 common bathrooms for guests. All the rooms have individual heating. The dining area has a beautiful view so you can enjoy your meals in a great setting and the cozy living room is the perfect place to discuss your adventures of the day, look at your pictures or simply unwind.

The diving

Underwater you will find a rich diversity of fish, invertebrates, marine mammals and kelp forests. Salmon, rockfish, herring, squid, giant octopus, sea otters, seals, and sea lions are all permanent residents. Others like orca, grey and humpback whales, Puget  Sound King crab, sea pens, and six gill sharks add flavor to your dives and make your stay unforgettable.

The Rendezvous I is a 36 ft. canoe cove boat with a 330 HP engine. Especially adapted for diving, this boat will be your base for your underwater adventures. It has a fully closed and heated galley and an aluminum covered stern. With a special ladder for easy exit from the water and a swim platform that facilitates easy entry, it is the ideal dive boat.

We will be enjoying 4 days of diving: 3 dives each on Sunday, Monday & Tuesday--2 dives on Wednesday before traveling home.

Diver Requirements:

  1. Each diver must have been been diving in the last 60 days

  2. Have COLD WATER diving experience
