Mount Rinjani Setampol – Start a 2-day hike to the summit of Mount Rinjani. Enjoy stunning views of the surrounding area, including the crater lake, as you climb to the summit. Enjoy a night of camping and breakfast at sunrise before descending the mountain.
Day 1 Wake up very early at 7:30 am and have breakfast. At 8:00 am, take a vehicle to the starting point of the hike, which will take about 30 minutes. Register yourself at the Bayan Village Head’s office and start your journey by exploring the forest.
Along the road before you reach Jebak Gawah, you will see various local plantations such as coffee, vanilla, and clove trees. After walking for 30 minutes, you will arrive at Jebak Gawah (Forest Gate) as Post 1 which is located at an altitude of 867 meters above sea level.
From post 1 to post 2 (1,445 masl) it takes about 2 hours on foot. Once you reach post 2, you can rest for 20 minutes. After that, continue your journey to post 3 (2,134 masl) which takes about 2.5 hours on foot. Arrive at post 3 at lunch time and rest for 1.5 hours. Next, continue walking to the campsite (Stampol Crater Rim 2,321 meters above sea level), which takes about 1.5 hours on foot. Arrive at the campsite around 16.00 pm and set up a tent for the night.
From the campsite to the photo spot at the top is very close and only takes 10 minutes on foot. At the top, enjoy the sunset that includes the stunning Mount Rinjani Crater Lake and Mount Agung in Bali on the west coast. After sunset, return to the campsite for the night. Dinner will be prepared and after that, go to bed.
Day 2 Wake up early to enjoy the sunrise and the colorful lakes of Mount Rinjani. After that, have breakfast and get ready to leave the campsite. Walk back to the exit gate to complete the tour which takes about 5 hours. Lunch will be prepared on the way down, so you will finish the tour around 12:30 pm. Your car will be ready to pick you up and drop you off again.
Our team of guides and porters will pick you up at your hotel location. Our first stop is at Rinjani Trekking Center Senaru (RTC). At the RTC we will do an online check-in and pick up our tickets to Rinjani National Park. You will need to provide your passport for the online check-in at this time. After a brief medical check at the RTC we will begin our trek. The trek from Senaru offers a beautiful shaded hike through the protected forest of Rinjani National Park.
The forest is filled with the sound of beautiful birds and if we’re lucky we could encounter deer and other wildlife. Your lunch will be prepared for you at post #2, roughly 3 hours after we begin our trek. Once you have reached post #3 you will be provided with an amazing panoramic view of Bali, Mt. Agung, and the 3 famous Gilis. The total time to reach the crater rim is normally 6 hours. Once you reach the crater rim campsite your tents will be already prepared for you by our team of porters.
It will still be in the afternoon when you arrive at the crater rim and our team will prepare you a snack as you enjoy the amazing views of Senaru Crater Rim. Crater Rim Senaru provides a breathtaking sunset as you enjoy your dinner.
This section of the climb begins to become more steep and provides a beautiful panoramic view of Sembalun village. Arriving at the crater rim campsite around 4pm your tents will be ready for you to have a short rest while our porters prepare an afternoon snack for you. Dinner will be ready at 6:30 and after that you can rest for the summit trek the following morning.
Your breakfast will be prepared for you at 7am. We will begin our trek back down to Senaru
