About your trip

Why Take This Course
When diving accidents happen, prompt oxygen first aid can minimize symptoms and enhance recovery. Supplemental oxygen helps deliver critical oxygen to tissues, reduce inert gas bubbles (a cause of decompression sickness and arterial gas embolism), and slow injury progression until professional care arrives.

This DAN EO₂ course is an entry-level, skills-focused training that:

  • Helps you recognize signs of DCI and submersion injuries

  • Teaches the assembly and safe use of oxygen equipment

  • Guides you through scenario-based first aid for diving emergencies

All DAN first-aid courses, including this one, meet current ILCOR and AHA guidelines.

What You Will Learn

After completing the required DAN eLearning, you’ll join Dive With Frank for a practical in-person session to gain hands-on proficiency in:

  • Atmospheric gases & human physiology

  • Decompression illness and oxygen’s role in dive injuries

  • Oxygen safety and proper handling techniques

  • Identifying, assembling, and operating DAN oxygen equipment

  • Conducting scene safety and initial emergency assessments

  • Using demand inhalator valves, non-rebreather masks, bag-valve masks, and manually triggered ventilators

  • Developing emergency assistance and oxygen administration plans

These align precisely with DAN’s official learning objectives for the EO₂ course.
