Ride northern Tanzania on two wheels from Arusha across West Kilimanjaro’s dirt tracks, along the Rift Valley to Lake Natron, and through the cultural hub of Mto wa Mbu, with optional sand and flowy hardpack tailored to your skill. Mid-tour, park the bikes and switch to a safari 4x4 for two nights in the Serengeti—big cats, endless plains, and sunrise game drives—before looping back via Chemka (Kikuletwa) Hot Springs and finishing near Arusha National Park with Mount Meru views.
Expect a guided motorcycle tour (beginner–intermediate off-road) on well-maintained Royal motorcycles, pro lead guide, smart daily distances, and a route built to hit the greatest-hits without dead miles. It’s the sweet spot: proper ADV riding plus a bucket-list Serengeti safari baked in—no gear shuffle, no guesswork.

(2) Nights
Our team will pick you up at the airport and take you to your accommodation for the evening.
We will have a group safety and cultural briefing followed by a quick overview of the tour and the plan tomorrow. We are excited to show you this beautiful place we call home!
On our first full day, we will tak a test ride to Mungu Crater (God's Hole) a massive volcanic crater in the Maasai community about 1 hour outside of Arusha.
This will be a great chance to ride on various types of off-road sections to get ready for the upcoming riding days.
We will stop at one of our favorite spots in Arusha for lunch with a view of Mt. Meru.
Today will also be a good day to get any last minute provisions, exchange money, etc.
The ride from Arusha to Lake Natron is a full day of changing horizons and rugged beauty. Leaving Arusha, the tarmac soon gives way to open stretches of gravel as you head toward Longido, a Maasai town tucked beneath its namesake mountain. It’s a perfect spot to pause, stretch, and take in the views of volcanic peaks rising from the savannah. From there, the road winds deeper into Maasai country toward Kitumbeine, where you’ll stop for a simple but hearty local lunch. This middle stretch is where the adventure really sets in—dusty tracks, occasional wildlife sightings, and the sense of riding far from the crowds.
After lunch, the route pushes on through remote landscapes dotted with acacia and volcanic ridges until the dramatic Rift Valley escarpment signals your approach to Lake Natron. By late afternoon, you roll into your lodge perched near the lakeshore. With the sun dropping behind Ol Doinyo Lengai, the “Mountain of God,” you’ll settle in for the night surrounded by some of the wildest scenery in northern Tanzania.
Today we will head towards Marangu another cool mountain town at the base of Kilimanjaro. Prepare for twisty tarmac roads around the mountain.
We will stop for lunch at the "Welcome to Kenya" at the Rongai border for a quick break.
The last 1.5 hours of riding will be offroad through local villages on the north side of Kilimanjaro.
We will stay at a working farm set on 5,000 acres overlooking the Great Rift Valley
At first light, a Maasai guide will lead you on a walk along the shores of Lake Natron, where the rising sun paints the water in shades of pink and orange. The shallow, mineral-rich lake is famous for attracting thousands of flamingos, and their silhouettes against the Rift Valley cliffs create a surreal backdrop. As you walk, your guide shares insights into the lake’s unique ecosystem and the deep cultural connection the Maasai have with this dramatic landscape. It’s a peaceful, unhurried experience that blends wildlife, scenery, and storytelling—an intimate way to start the day in one of Tanzania’s most otherworldly settings.
Staying at a camp inside the Serengeti puts you right in the heart of the wilderness, where the sounds of the night—lions calling, hyenas laughing, zebras rustling nearby—become part of the experience. Tented camps blend comfort with adventure, offering cozy beds, hearty meals, and the thrill of being surrounded by the vast savannah. It’s an intimate way to connect with the park, with sunrise game drives starting just beyond your doorstep.
As we head to West Kilimanjaro, we will stop at iRide Co-Owner Sylvia's Grandmother's home in the village of Sanya Ju.
We will stop to rest and get a feel for what living and farming in the Kilimanjaro region is all about.
After our visit we will continue on to our accommodation which is a working farm set on 5,000 acres of land. It is a family run farm known for its delicious food.
Today, we will ride about 20 minutes to Enduimet. This is a protected area managed by the local Maasai community.
It is a desert like landscape where we will spot giraffes, elephants, gazelles, and zebras from the back of our bikes
After a fun day of seeing wildlife from our bikes we will enjoy a sundown cocktail at a hidden peak overlooking Kilimanjaro
Today will be a fun day filled with both off-road riding through villages and twisty tarmax turns around Mt. Kilimanjaro.
We will ride eastwards around the mountain stopping at the Rongai border for lunch. A quick afternoon stop in Marangu before we ride up to a village in the foothills of Kili to spend the night.
We will start the morning with a fun ride down the mountain into Moshi Town. We will make our way across farmland and maasai villages to Chemka Hot springs, a lush natural oasis for swimming.
Cool off with a dip, try out the rope swing, or float in a tube. We will have a lovely local lunch and relax before our final ride back to Arusha.
Sadly, all great motorcycle tours must come to an end. Thank you for choosing iRideArusha we hope you had an amazing experience with our small family run business!
